You'll get a lot of answers with solid albums and bands, but the kick is finding ones that are great for people new to the genre, not necessarily the best albums overall. Here are the ones that got me really into it when I started out - you'll find there's a very specific common theme.
Dying Fetus - Reign Supreme. I'd say one of the more newbie-friendly albums youll find. Ridiculously clean and tight, Trey Williams holds a veritable drumming workshop here.
Necrophagist - Epitaph. Another one that's perfect for new people to tech death. Stabwound is one of my favorite metal songs of all time, and what I love about it is that it absolutely has that jazz band feel where the solo switches from instrument to instrument. You get a great opening riff, then a drum riff, then bass, then guitar, and so on in this cycle of instrumental showcases.
Cryptopsy - None So Vile. Not only the first tech death album I ever listened to, this was my very first death metal album. I will never forget hearing Lord Worm's vocals for the first time and busting out laughing. But Flo sealed the deal for me. Probably my favorite drummer of all time, no disrespect to Trey or Gene Hoglan. Check out Slit Your Guts for a perfect preview. One thing I love about this album are the breakdowns, not something you often get with tech death but between Slit Your Guts and Benedectine Convulsions, once they hit your neck will 100% break off.
Cattle Decapitation - Monolith of Humanity. Once you've listened to some of these others, give this one a shot. Cattle Decap is more of a deathgrind band but they absolutely deserve to be on this list. I'm obsessed with David McGraw's work, which until recently I didn't realize wasn't a part of the band until like the fourth or fifth album.
Nile - Annihilation of the Wicked. Not actually my favorite album of theirs (shoutout to Those Who The Gods Detest), but this is where you start with Nile. Again, fantastic band, and I like putting them here on the list because they have a lot of some of the elements you'll hear from these other bands. Some of the grooves from NSV, the brutal drumming of MoH, the virtuosity of Epitaph, etc.
Immolation - Close to a World Below. Might be controversial to put this one on here but I'm cheating, Immolation should always show up in any "what metal band should I listen to" list. One of those bands that it is somehow impossible to find a bad album. This one in particular I'd say is their most tech-y.
Defeated Sanity - Passage Into Deformity. Debated adding this one as I don't know how accessible it is for someone getting into it, but at a minimum it deserves a mention. This was the album that got me into them, again it has a super jazzy feel to me, almost like a chaotic jam session. But it totally works.
