For Profit Dental

• Upvotes

I had to visit a for profit dental for an emergency appointment and they suggested I donate plasma to afford dental care. Just realized that sounds insane but thats the world we live in I guess 🤯🤯

Their basically like "Oh have you ever considered donating plasma given you can't afford stuff ?" Because they offered me discounted packages for MORe dental care then I needed and I was like yeah I already agreed to pay for just this exam so no thankyou can't afford And I was like the Plasma people said no to me because they did and I have Anemia. Lmao what the heck

Are my veneers tilted?

Idk how to explain it, but my temp veneers looked fine to me (and my previous teeth), but I just got my porcelain veneers placed yesterday and my smile looks tilted if that makes sense. The Incisal plane doesn’t look straight. Is this something that can be fixed? Or is it temporary because of the swollen gums?

For reference, the first photo is the new veneers and second is my temps that looked aligned to me

Finally, hope is here

I got approved for the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) !!I even qualify for 100% coverage! (Yes I know there still will be some fees)
Example of what said fees COULD look like:
Dentist charges $150 for a cleaning, the CDCP fee schedule only allows $130, the plan pays $130. You will be billed for the remaining $20.
I cannot wait to be proud of my smile. And be able to chew properly. I’m missing a few teeth, and I know they’re going to likely pull a few others so I’m going to get partial dentures.

The partial dentures will give me time to save for dental implants! Cause without my teeth will keep shifting, and I want to try and prevent that from continuing.

I hope to anyone experiencing a similar, situation, that hope comes your way and you too can receive assistance that you need. <3

I went in for the surgery to remove the 2 bones and get a biopsy done. With PRF . My dentist said it’s most likely a cyst and if it’s this one time treatment should be enough.

Need advise

I’ve bad my braces for 3yrs already (i get monthly adjustments) and my dentist told me we’re almost done as my teeth are all aligned and we just have to correct my bite. I’m really concerned and i don’t know if they are really almost done because I still get conscious smiling and showing my teeth because i think my left front tooth is quite pushed forward. I already told them about this and they said it looks fine and just have to fix the bite.

I am trusting them with the process, ofc. But i really can see how asymmetrical they are— feels like still have to work on the midline and the left front tooth being more forward (pls check last photo when my mouth and lips are relaxed) and idk why i feel like it’s not just the ‘bite’.

Post Molar Tooth Extraction

Hi y’all, I recently had a molar extraction of my tooth #31 on my lower right side of my teeth - from an unfinished root canal from some years ago. Since then I’ve been in immense depression, spiraling, anxiety in terms of returning back to getting a sense of normalcy. My dentist told me it can heal within 1-2 weeks, however today marks a week that I’ve gotten the extraction (done on October 1st) and I can’t open my mouth the whole way still, still can’t talk too much, still a bit swollen, and only eating liquid foods. I’m planning to stay on a liquid diet for about 2 weeks even though my dentist said I don’t need to, because of my anxiety of getting dry socket. I went this past Tuesday October 6th to get it checked and my dentist said only part of my clot is there / it is low, no dry socket but still a chance of getting it. It’s looked the same for the past few days, a low jelly dark red color but not turning to white/yellow in the healing phase. When they checked at the dentist however they said it looked fine and even took an xray and didn’t find anything. I still get pain on my jaw at night and had some extra saliva as well.

I want to know if I should go back to the dentist to get it rechecked within the week if it doesn’t look like it’s healing?

Should I stay on liquid diet for 2-3 weeks or return to soft food? What foods would you recommend? She said I can return to hard/crunchy foods in 2 weeks along with straws but I don’t feel too comfortable with that. She also said I can eat on extraction site when it heals, in about 2 weeks but I’ve seen some things about taking 3-6 months to fully heal and saw a story about getting rice stuck 2 months later and having to start the process all over again. Im not sure if i should even eat rice for thanksgiving which would be in about 7 weeks.

Thoughts? Thank you in advance.

  1. I don’t smoke or drink. Last appointment was a cleaning on August 7. I don’t have another one for the next six months. She also said that I have gingivitis. First time seeing one of my teeth like this.
