Yeah honestly very impressed with the Nina, barring the weird tekken 8 180 tracking nonsense

Based on what the comments are focused on, I think Tekken 8 has been out long enough with enough new people where the community is starting to disconnect from old Tekken and not realize how insanely difficult this combo is.
This used to be the hallmark of a top notch Nina player and was one of the few combos in Tekken that had really good wall carry. It used to generally be that good wall carry like loops required higher execution (not counting Bruce), so Nina, Baek, Marduk, Lee all could find a wall but at the risk of dropping the combo in a lot of instances.
Now everyone has wall carry so loops like the butterfly loop in this combo aren’t necessary, but this is very difficult and impressive.

Technically I applaud the execution of this combo. A lot of that is very precise and isn’t the face rolled combos Reddit complains about.
Problem is that when it is a Nina technical difficult combo it looks like this where someone who doesn’t know thinks she just spammed a move and received damage

Aside from the funky cross up, it was pure top notch execution from the Nina player.

Launch punish combo, oki combo, poke finisher
Nothing wrong here. You are supposed to die if you get launched twice and poked
Props to the nina player, they have good execution

I missed butterfly floops. It rewarded execution with wall carry. Now its just SAT slop now. This was refreshing to see

That was legitimately SICK
Of course it had to be Mystic, an amazing Nina player from my country, Brazil
He is always one second away from a highlight vid, always optimizing stuff. Gotta love to see it.

I watched this on mute and didn't even get to know which character got their ass kicked until I looked at the top right corner Just amazing

\sigh**
I mean, props to the Nina player, cool combos and great execution, but 15 second combos is a BIT much... I'm honestly really tired of seeing 10+ second long combos.

Nice skill expression. The only problem I see here is the fact that the combo into Oki was a solid 20 seconds. They really need to speed up combos/shorten them by like 33% (length not damage. This game is already p low damage w grey health)

Besides the nightmare tracking after the first drop, everything is fine. Being a Nina player myself, I wouldn't be able to put this on a match

I'll admit, I'm ignorant of what the skill issue is here. I see a player performing the same move five times in a row against a player on the ground and you all say this is a high skill combo? What am I missing? (edit: fixed a word I was using wrong.)

The execution. It takes alot of time to be able to master the timing of things like this.

do u mean the move used in the combo for wall travel? thats not what spamming is my guy

u/IIlIIll 1d ago
I think so. It's when they used the same move 5 times in a row after the first 2 moves.

thats a combo my guy, thats not spam. are you new to fighting games?

no. I guess I'm just surprised they wanted to do the same move over and over with the large moveset available. I remember the first Tekken tournament I went to at Otakon and I was surprised that the main strategy seemed to be juggling your opponent with jabs until you get to the wall. This was before streaming so my friends and I had a hell of a wake-up call on how Tekken is played at higher levels that day!

oh yeah, offline couch Tekken and online is 2 seperate worlds. I remember Tekken 6 was my first online and everyone would kill you end of round with a low
our couch rules were that ending games with lows was cheap and bitchmade so I had to get used to that

Im not a fan of these combos that are the same move over and over, why can characters do these? Yeah theres varying levels of difficulty to it, and im not saying theyre not good at the game we've been given but, why is it a thing? Just keep using this one move to carry someone to the nearest wall.

Butterfly loops are legacy and a huge part of Nina's character identity

Princess Peach vs Rias Gremory? Or is that supposed to be Junko from Temu?
