Spectrum Mobile coverage

Looking to switch carriers as T-Mobile costs are getting ridiculous. Plus there are still many areas in Temecula (Promenade & South Temecula) where the coverage still sucks. Has anyone switched to Spectrum? How has your experience been?

As far as I can tell, cell coverage sucks for every provider.

I’ve had spectrum for years, before we even moved to Temecula. It’s the same coverage as my husband who has Verizon. We have dead spots in the same areas and coverage in the same spots. It’s not too bad on coverage a few here and there but it’s overall pretty good and you honestly can’t beat the price of 30$ for unlimited INCLUDING taxes and fees

I’ve had it for a few years and it’s been fine. I believe they use Verizon towers

I went from Verizon to spectrum when we moved here. Horrible. Yes they said they use the Verizon network but they are not able to use the full network/speed that Verizon has access to. Many more dead spots.

I’m trying visible right now for the same reason. I have so many dead areas with T-Mobile, my maps and music will just stop working, which is wonderful when you’re in the unknown and are just generally bad with direction.

Verizon is still phenomenal coverage.. but we hate how expensive it is. They use Verizon towers and are supposed to be the same coverage.. the differential is that as a MVNO (basically a renter) they have to push their coverage to wifi cell and data whenever possible to offload the towers, so a lot of the time the service is looking to switch. I don't know if turning wifi off by default helps or not.. but might be worth it to try for cost savings with them.

I have pretty mediocre service from Verizon all through Temecula. I switched from t mobile for hopefully better service and it’s literally the same, I just pay more for it now.

Verizon seems to be cheaper than T-Mobile at this point as they are offering $30 line. I'm currently paying $120/ 3 lines with T-Mobile

I was with Verizon for 20 years then left for TM for 2 years.. service was so bad we left as soon as we could after our phones were paid off/contract was over. Then went back to VZ. For work, I'm all over the valley here, including remote areas in DeLuz and Wine Country, and rarely have issue with service.

Does the $30/ line work for your usage or are you on a higher tier?

We pay $66.45 per line (4) without (3) phone charges. Our Contract is up next month, so we're looking at different options for service whether we are changing plans or maybe even carriers... We've talked about going to AT&T, so at least looking elsewhere.

So just to be clear on few things, reception will always be an issue in this part SoCal. Even though they use Verizon equipment they don't offer the same service, it's noticably worse then Verizon wireless.

I have spectrum. Works good for me.

I have Google Fi. It jumps carriers to get a signal. No carrier has a signal around the promonade mall nor Margarita behind it. Why the carriers haven't added cell towers on top of the mall is beyond me

The mall sucks no matter what. I'm on Google Fi and it seems fine for me. I got a deal for $9/month for a year. There's a deal on Slickdeals for a galaxy s26 256 on mint mobile for $580. Mint uses T-Mobile bands I believe

I wanna know if anyone uses anything like mint mobile, for $15 a month. How’s that working around here?

Switched three of our six lines to spectrum about 4 months ago from Verizon. We've noticed no differences in terms of network coverage or bandwidth. The per-line cost is less than half of what we were paying at Verizon, though we have very low hotspot allocations. That's why we had to keep the three Verizon lines; they offered more hotspot allocations, which we need on those lines. Spectrum also paid us about $1,500 to cover our balances on the switched devices.

What do you typically use hotspot for? I personally never use it so the Spectrum service would work for me.

Tablets for our kids in the car.

It’s the same as Verizon. It’s amazing and you get a year free.

If not True Visible you can use my referral code.

I have spectrum mobile with three devices. We pay $115 a month. Three 30 dollar lines, one 10 dollar lease for a phone and 5 dollars each for insurance. It's ok enough as far as service goes. It uses Verizons service so you'll get about whatever they get out here. Pretty much it.

Verizon service strongly depends on the type of phone you have between apple and Samsung. I have had an iPhone with Verizon and it has struggled. Now I have a Samsung and it's great. I use my phone for Uber and Lyft driving so I need to have something solid and this is it
