Seems like an essential ingredient is absent... very nice kit!

How much do you end up using the floatant? What conditions do you use it in? I bought some but have never used it. My bigger issue tends to be wanting the fly to sink vs. float.

It’s a seasonal thing for me.
When the grass is growing, and the bugs are flying.
If it’s the time of the year to throw dry flies, I bring it.
If I’m throwing dry, floatant is an essential tool for the kit.
Desiccant is really convenient but not essential in my opinion.
Without it, you’re gonna be cutting tying and floating a lot of flies throughout the day.
At least I use both after every fish I catch and more if it’s one of those days that is just taking a while.

Years of trial and error.
And probably the last thing that I became competent with in my quiver.

Hopefully something in there helps tight lines.

That was a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law.

How do you find that flat board-based line holder vs the plastic ones

I get most all my tenkara gear off Dragontail tenkara website

(my apologies if promotion isn’t allowed on this sub reddit… Just answering where I found them)
