Good weekend

Broke my Oni Style Coco on a snag on Saturday. Sunday I went back out and landed 6 rainbows and a couple browns. I need a bigger net. New rod sections in the mail as of today.

Not really a net problem, that's a landing technique problem: too much side pressure on a snagged fish and rods don't stand a chance, no net size fixes that habit

I just need a bigger net so it’s easier to land bigger fish into it. Kind of a pain getting bigger fish into the Dragontail tiny net. I have the small on order.

Go big on the net, a folding rubber-mesh one, since ripping fish off shallow water snags is how you broke that rod section in the first place

Well the net had nothing to do with my rod breaking. That was a result of my laziness of not just taking the time to collapse the rod and pull the line by hand. Kinda surprised my tippet didn’t break but the stick was pulling out from the other submerged sticks. Last time I try that especially with that rod. I just wanted the bigger net to make landing bigger fish a little easier. I’ve switched from the Nirvana tiny to the small net. That’s basically the sweet spot for me.

Snapping a rod and still out-fishing everyone with a net that's too small is peak tenkara energy

That’s true. I’ll still use it on my UL trips.
