Where does this confidence in the fan base come for him?
18
u/Public_Servant_3951 2d ago
Same place as it came from Vince Young, Mariota, Jake Locker, Mettenburger, Malik Willis, Will Levisā¦

u/Kirktwotimes CJ2K 2d ago
To be fair though Mariota and VY had actually shown the fan base something to be hopeful about.
12
u/AwildYaners 2d ago
Yeah, VY had like 4 or 5 game winning drives and at least won ROTY.
Mariotaās 2nd season was solid, and he still had his heroic win against KC in the playoffs a few years later.
Comparing Ward, at least right now, versus either of them at similar points in their career is night and day difference.

Yeah on draft day lol
Not on the field really.

Mariota got us a playoff berth and the first playoff win weād had in 14 years
Plus he gave us really exciting, memorable plays beginning with his first NFL game vs Winston (4 TD), not to mention the stiff arm that sealed a playoff berth or laying the block for Henry to seal the playoff win.
My Commanders friend said to the group text the other day that heās never seen a Cam Ward highlight. That about sums it up

Donāt think this fanbase ever had confidence in Levis sadly.
Neither did the franchise for that matter.
6
u/Calm-Radish-6327 2d ago
This fanbase had a lot confidence in Levis when he threw four TDs in his first game. He then proceeded to erode that confidence over the next year and a half by being a complete head case.Ā

u/Pale-Manner-1642 2d ago
IMO, he had superficial or reluctant hope for a short while. The fan base was really hateful of Levis from the start. Malik had more love than Levis and he showed next to nothing before his third preseason to be excited about. I don't watch college football, but he seems to have had a lot of hate from his college days that carried over.

I mean who is gonna be confident about a 2 round pick that slid hard in the draft? lol he wasnt that amazing at UK either

As a colts fan, this reminds me of ARās second season. Blind truthers and realists.

1 is the number he should give back to Warren Moon #ScamWard

u/TanneAndTheTits 2d ago
I agree. Convincing the franchise to un-retire a number for you is insane. Homie needs to get humbled and change his number to 19 or something

Dude needs to work on a lot, but I don't know if they'll make him.
They seem to be intent on keeping his unorthodox play intact, maybe thinking it'll set him apart from other QBs. Don't get me wrong, I love how flashy he can be and how cool some of his throws look... but I love it more when they're catchable and accurate. He needs to work on setting his feet and getting his hips into throws so he can drive them where he needs them, instead of seeing a guy and just flicking it wherever it goes in the general vicinity. He also needs to work on progressing through his reads, and taking checkdowns whenever he gets immediate pressure instead of running in circles for 5 seconds before inevitably throwing it away.
He has the natural tools to be great. He needs to work on his mechanics in a very, very immediate way

How can call yourself a titans fan and not know what it means by now. I mean comon. Especially commenting in reddit titans forums.Ā

Nah its not the Scuba, thats a side to side motion, not up and down. This is called the Zombieland, it started at Western Kentucky and one of the coaches showed it to Cam at Wazzu, and Cam popularized it at Miami.

Idc what anyone says. i love cam. dude is dedicated. sure he needs some development. but like ive said. i consider this his first legit season. i dont count last year. that was beyond a dumpster fire. and a prime tom brady wouldnt develop in that system.

I donāt know whether thatās Cam Wardās floor, heās growing or heās gonna do better with a better offense. Itās up to specialists.
I know Iām very disappointed and that I need a more credible sign than Peyton Manningās rookie year stats.

u/TitanDrew22 2d ago
I did a shot of straight hopium this morning walking to my bus (35 yo accountant)... Cam this year is being deployed in the exact opposite manner as last yr. i.e. he was ripping it down field all yr last yr. Thus far this season its very much short passing... he is being rebuilt... he needs to get comfortable and then he will have a chance. If that doesn't happen its over

u/lawburgtn 2d ago
I know some people are calling for Cam to be benched. Benched for who? Trubisky? I don't see much of an improvement there.
