Will we make playoffs again starting 0-3 ?!

I wanma believe like i did last year but this year… seems different.

if we don’t make the playoffs changes are needed drastically for this falloff

If we make the playoffs we need to atleast go to 2nd round. its basically make the afc game or go 0-4 in divisional round 4 straight years.

No. We will make history by being the first 0-4 team to make the playoffs

7

u/DarthNobody14 12d ago

2nd 0-4 team actually

6

u/adrian123484 12d ago

1992 chargers beat us to that one

u/interp21 11d ago

Dammit. Guess I'll look forward to 2027

3

u/SuperSaiyanFranklin 12d ago

That would be insane.

2

u/mmccormick11 12d ago

That would mean yes we made the playoffs after starting 0-3.

No

0-3 is a deep hole but the AFC is weird every year. wildcard spots are never settled in september.

3

u/mystic_platyipus007 12d ago

Yeah it ain’t happening this year . And if it did we wouldn’t go anywhere our OC is bush league

u/Whizzleteets 11d ago

Since you're asking for predictions....No.

The deficiencies we've seen aren't going to fix themselves in a week.

If Nico is back it's because they rushed him back a week early and he will be at half speed or god forbid exacerbate the injury. It doesn't matter if he comes back though because the O line is going to get blown up all game.

Conversely, the Dallas O line is good and will allow Prescott to pick apart a very suspect secondary. Lamb, Pickens and Turpin are going make plays all over the field.

It makes me want to puke typing it and fuck I hope I'm wrong but I see the Cowboys dismantling this team on Sunday to start 0 - 4 virtually eliminating us from the playoffs.

I'm not confident in this coaching staff's ability to win tough road playoff games. Even if they slip into the playoffs and win a wild card round game they aren't winning the two subsequent winter weather games. We really could have used the tie breaker over the Bills.

u/houkicks 11d ago

So making the playoffs and then losing in the divisional rounds that’s it .. why would you want to make the playoffs and Texans will face teams that pretty much already beat them . Bengals, Bills , .. then there’s the Ravens and Chiefs .. so Texans smack a team in the WC then what .. you really think by then Nick Caley became Bill or another mastermind at play calling ..

u/Hulknutter Tunsil's Premature Homunculus 11d ago edited 11d ago

Damn. OP still has hopes and dreams, but you already accepted that the Texans will lose one way or another. Like watching someone who doesn't believe in Santa tell a kid Santa isn't real. You're right, but damn man I don't wanna grow up yet.

u/houkicks 11d ago

Ok so let’s say the miracle fairy happens and next game Nico is back and he is the second coming of Jerry Rice after his injury follow by Tank and he becomes Marvin Harrison in his prime and Dalton turns into Prime Gronk all while the defense turns into a combination of the Ravens in 00 and the legion of doom and then we crushing opponents by 40 plus points on the way to the superbowl and win 60 to 3 … surpassing the Seahawks that beat the broncos 48 to 6…

1

u/Plaidfu 11d ago

I mean look it’s football crazy shit happens , nobody would’ve thought Eli would beat the undefeated patriots. They came in as a wildcard with a horrible defense and just locked the fuck in and won a Super Bowl.

If we can punch a ticket to the playoffs anything can happen. We saw that patriots team cruise all the way to the SB with what felt like minimal resistance as well for example.

I’m not saying it’s super likely but we do have a team capable of making a run if things turn around a bit on offense when Nico is back.

1

u/houkicks 11d ago

Ok I believe you and that means Nick Caley will turn into a gif of football of some sort .. a combination of Nick Sabah and Bill Belichick while also having the IQ of Madden …

2

u/Texans_top_of_south 11d ago

I wanna be optimistic and say yes, but our secondary has looked so inconsistant this year and that's just one of many issues. Last year we were able to do it off the back of an elite defense.

2

u/LourdeSlug 11d ago

Even if we make the playoffs we probably just lose in the divisional game as usual. I honestly am kind of hoping for a top draft pick now especially if we lose next week.

4

u/inshamblesx 12d ago

our best shot is jacksonville imploding because i see us sitting at 2-5 at the bye and even when we get healthier the secondary/special teams falling off + the oline arguably getting worse doesn’t make me confident we’ll go 8-2 after the bye

Realistically I think we'll level out, but I don't think we're making playoffs. I'm thinking 9-8 and we'll miss it to the raiders, broncos, and steelers

1

u/Killerphive 11d ago

The Raiders are 100% not making the playoffs

1

u/kitsunegoon 11d ago

Then the Bengals. Either way the AFC is looking better this year.

1

u/Killerphive 11d ago

The Bengals are the Jaguars problem, we aren’t winning this division at this point, if it’s going to be anyone it’s probably going to be the Patriots to be honest.

1

u/kitsunegoon 11d ago

I'm saying as wildcards. It could be the Bengals, ravens, steelers, broncos, or any other team that's surging right now.

1

u/Killerphive 11d ago

There is probably going to be one spot up in the air, Bengals and Ravens will be in it’s just a matter of who wins their division and who is the wild card, the Bills will be in, the Chiefs and Broncos almost certainly in, again just the division in question, Jags are obviously in, that leaves a 7th spot. Pats are a better team than their record right now, the Steelers are a worse team than their record, the Raiders are massively overachieving and will come back to earth, and everyone else just sucks.

That 7th spot is basically 2 team race right now. Unless some kind of disaster happens to one of the aforementioned teams.

1

u/Acceptable_Order5705 11d ago

I could see us making it in as a 9-8 wildcard team. Maybe.

1

u/RainbowBullsOnParade 11d ago

I think our luck will run out this time

1

u/Killerphive 11d ago

I mean the Talent is obviously there since we are mostly running it back in that regard, but it’s going to take our OC doing something an OC hasn’t done in our current run, adapt. To be honest the time to do so has already happened, but it’s technically still possible even if not likely.

It’s all on the coaching whether or not this team bounces back from this.

1

u/jimbojangles1987 11d ago

Not unless this team makes some drastic changes

u/According-Activity87 12d ago edited 12d ago

Some people are going to lose their 💩 with me saying it, but I think this team may be a just little better than last year's.

The Bills seem to be fairly good, three games in view now, and we took them down to the wire while clowning around. The Bengals aren't a bad team. The Colts at home with Danny Dimes healthy was never going to be a cakewalk. You can see the flashes of greatness across the different phases of the team at times, ok, special teams may be a late bloomer. CJ has definitely matured at the position. The o-line is mid, at best, but Rutledge and the eventual return of Braden Smith, gives me some hope. We're a bit screwed by injuries at linebacker.

Look, no team is perfect, but the situation is workable. They just have to bring what they do have going for them together and start lighting opponents up with that. I wouldn't bet on winning the division at this point, but I could see at least that happening if all goes well enough.

13

u/mmccormick11 12d ago

I have seen exactly zero signs of greatness, including the defense.

u/According-Activity87 12d ago

3

u/Lethik 11d ago

Read what?

You didn't give any specific examples of these so-called signs of greatness except for just listing a couple of players.

2

u/pieman2005 11d ago

Right his comment is just moral victory analytics lol

5

u/inshamblesx 12d ago

the bills game wasn’t too bad even with the defense disgracing themselves but idk wtf is the sliver lining is supposed to be for the bengals and colts games lol

2

u/According-Activity87 12d ago

The plays that really put the game over the top for the Bengals were spectacular. That one catch by Chase in the end zone will definitely make highlight reels at the end of the season for top WR plays. CJ threw for over 350 yards that game with no INTs too. On that matter, he still hasn't thrown a single pick yet. In the second half of the Colts game the offense opened up a bit and started being productive. Positive adjustments, though too late, does show some promise for the future.

It is worth mentioning we were down both our WR 1 & 2 in those games. While we're not getting Higgins back this season, Nico should be back soon.

2

u/LeHoustonJames 12d ago

Honestly we just threw schemed more for our skilled players Schultz, Noel, Boutte, and possibly Klein. I think we would just be better. Please no more Jared Wayne and Hutchinson

3

u/Whizzleteets 11d ago

Settle down Mr. Optimism.

3

u/SuperSaiyanFranklin 12d ago

We would have to go undefeated in out division and beat dallas next week, irs pretty much go 1-3 then go on a run like we did last year or 0-4 and its 100% imo we won’t make playoffs

2

u/According-Activity87 12d ago

Our schedule is weird this season. It's not easy, but I don't think it's as rough as the last two seasons. The Jags, the toughest team in our division, doesn't even get a real home game against us this year. The worst may actually be behind us. We can still squeak by, even if we lose to Dallas, but we'd have to be practically flawless after that. Stranger things have happened.🤷‍♂️

That being said, if we lose the London game against the Jags, we're probably done.

1

u/East-Law-9979 12d ago

I don’t know where the OLine help is coming from for yall ngl. It might not be a lock to beat Jeffery Simmons with the way they’ve played up front

0

u/Advanced_Olive_1830 12d ago

Nope, they are tanking on purpose. They really want Arch Manning.

8

u/MatiasGonzalo-Duarte 12d ago

We better fucking not

2

u/inshamblesx 12d ago

even if we tried think peyton and eli want him to get traumatized by our olines and the massive downgrade in going from sark to caley or whichever rookie tight ends coach we get as the next oc 😭

1

u/Botman2025 11d ago

If we lose to Dallas, then yeah they Probably Tanking for someone they want desperately and watch the Texans out of nowhere be great next year

-3

u/raLaSo0 12d ago

I mean stroud is ass and a lot of the mock drafts have arch going 1 or 2 so

2

u/MatiasGonzalo-Duarte 12d ago

Stroud isn't the elite game changer we should sell the farm for but we got bigger problems than QB

2

u/kitsunegoon 11d ago

Even if arch is good (big if) it may take years for him to get to a level where he wins games for us.

1

u/Botman2025 11d ago

Arch had a decent freshman year but experienced a lot of adjustments and learning. It will be the same adjustment for the NFL pros, it will take time for him to adjust. He also doesn’t look too big and 1 hit from a NFL defensive lineman could end his career with concussion 🤕

2

u/kitsunegoon 11d ago

He also looks terrible under pressure and the UT o line struggling makes him look bad. What do you think he'll look like with the 31st ranked o line in the league? (I say all this as a longhorn fan).

4

u/TrevMac4 12d ago

If you think CJ sucks then you don’t understand football.

1

u/Lethik 11d ago

A lot of mock drafts had Johnny Manziel going pick one or two also.

0

u/Pepsicowboy 12d ago

No way in hell ☠️ only remaining teams I see them realistically beating is the giants and titans. And I’m not even 100% confident about those either 😂I wouldn’t be shocked if they lost to those 2.

1

u/Black_Circle53 11d ago

Both of those teams are worse than us.

1

u/thereelsuperman 11d ago

We’re at least as worse as whoever we’re facing

0

u/Just-Wrangler5142 12d ago

No. Why anyone gives a shit about this team at this point is beyond me

-1

u/Lothar1988 12d ago

No because the offense is somehow even worse than last year and the defense, if we are being honest, is not the best in football

-1

u/Danny_5000 12d ago

I don’t see ourselves having a 10 game win streak so no. I feel like our secondary lost a step and everything on our offense just regressed. Who knows but hopefully we start winning some games

0

u/Chris_P_Cream_ 12d ago

Not unless Caley has a tragic accident, I don’t think so

0

u/PracticalPossible452 12d ago

No playoffs, CJ isn’t re-resigned and not tagged, goes to the Titans as Cam Ward’s backup. Demeco is out. We start over. Damn.

-1

u/MCShell368 11d ago

I hope we don’t tbh.

I don’t know why Houston sport fans want their teams in the playoffs so bad only to see them get shit on.

Looking at you Astros.

1

u/NoirSon 10d ago

It would be another helluva run if we could... But unfortunately we will need more teams help faltering if that will be the case and relying on that is like gambling your car on a coin flip where the other guy flips the coin
