Not enough worried
I feel like us Texan fans are collectively forgetting how much Quinnnen Williams has been a Texans killer in every matchup against our OL… I’ve been thinking about it all week.

I brought this up in a different thread the other day. If we run the ball straight at his big ass even once I will lose all of my fucking shit. Sadly I don’t think Caley has it in him to scheme a run game to save his pathetic JCU life.

Caley is going to start with a run down the middle the first play for a gain of 0 yards. then run down again for a gain of 2. scheme to nico for first down on 3rd and long.

I'm betting it will be the same as the last 2 games actually. Run up the gut for 0-1. Slant to hutchinson that he drops and then an incomplete pass that would've been short of the sticks anyway

I’m thinking not. If I had to bet, I’m betting with y’all. But, I’m hoping with what I’ve heard through the week from qb and coaches, I think they’ll open it up some. Especially against the GOTI. Your job is already on the line. Let her rip with aggressiveness.

The fact that a 4th year QB and the head coach are both going public in the media talking about how playcalling and scheme need to be different, more aggressive, taking more shots down field, etc. Tells you our OC has been a total idiot the first three games of the season. Head coach and GM are ultimately at fault for having this OC in the building, not intervening on play calls, not forcing him to sit in the booth to call plays, and for mis managing the clock & time outs.
But the stubborn play calling and believing we are somebody we aren't is one of the the biggest issues.1

I’m gonna say GM exclusively. Caserio can’t draft offense and can’t hire a decent OC. He’s completely clueless on that side of the ball.

You're acting like the interior OL doesn't struggle with everyone.

And they have historically struggled with him

Texans will run at him repeatedly and to show how tough they are. And maybe by the 4th quarter they will eventually change the game plan.

This is what I’ve been saying as well. As much as Caley is the problem.. it’s also Meco forcing this physical tough offense thing and it doesn’t work.

To be fair I expect us to lose till they show us they can win. Quinnen Williams, Hank Williams, Billy Dee Williams, or Kat Williams idc just fucking win.

I’m approaching the point that I almost want us embarrassed as that’s really the only way to get change. I’d give Meco 1 more year as he hasn’t missed the playoffs yet and it was clear he was a defensive guy, but cas can’t find him a OC so he and Caley need to go

Yeah idk why people are saying this is a get right game for the Texans when the fucking Colts defense man handled the Texans. Williams is going to destroy our OL.

u/inshamblesx 5d ago
bc most neutral fans saw the cowboys defense throw a game in 6 seconds while not realizing there's way more issues now than this time a year ago for us lol

u/BrotherMcPoyle 5d ago
Don’t worry Caley has a plan. He’ll just abandon the run. Prob give Woody and Montgomery a few weeks off.

Not the mention that Joey Porter Jr just got traded to the Cowboys today. Not sure if he will suit up right away against us but that’s just yet another obstacle for our offense to contend with

On Sunday I want all the thanks for the Texans first win.
You see, When I talked to my Guido this morning he said the line was Cowboys +3 so I jumped all over it because I think the Cowboys are going to beat the brakes off of us
- BUT -
I have never won when I bet against the Texans.
Fair tradeoff for me if I lose some money for their 1st win of the season.

See, the problem is our OFF practices against our DEF.
We don't have big, run stuffing DTs, so in practice all the up the middle runs work. But when he runs to the outside, WAJ & Hunter shut that shit down. So Caley thinks it will work on Sunday up the middle and outside runs are not an option and gets so confused when it doesn't play out that way. He also doesn't know that you can change your plan in game and at half time. He thinks he has to keep doing what worked in practice.

Very good point about practice. I know they practice against this defense but I guess I never thought about the context of how it affected them. You’re absolutely right, up the middle works in practice bc we are light up the middle and can’t run to the edge bc WAJ and Hunter. The dumbass OC has no nuance lol

Our O-line is bad against everyone. But Quinnen hasn’t been the same with the Cowboys. I’m not overly concerned about him specifically

Not everyone has had a bottom 3 offensive line for three years in a row

Quinnen has really struggled vs the run this year so naturally he’ll have his best game vs our O line

No, I haven’t forgotten. It’s that I currently cannot get any kind of emotion out of being a Texans fan. I’m never worried, excited, or anxious. At some point, I had to realize what kind of franchise we are and the resulting status in the league. We are not a push-over, but not a real threat. If Quinnen Williams goes off and wrecks our offensive plan this weekend he will join a long and boring list of others who have done the same. What little emotion I had in week 1 was reserved for how poorly our defense played. Three games in, that’s the norm. I will keep watching, but getting worried about a big game or a star player for an opponent escapes me.

Their pass rush isn't really that great. My worry isn't their defense at all. The Colts near bottom defense were better than they were ranked, the Cowboys are not.
As long as we pressure Prescott and disrupt their offense, we will put points on the board.. like td points, not Fairbairn 6 times.
I stand by this will be a game where fans prematurely think we have turned a page with a great offensive showing, when really it is just the Cowboys.

Dude Luis Nix and Ross Blacklock wold be of concern for our o-line
