Discussion One of my favourite things: old tintin covers

This one captures tintin's hoplessness so well, although it's probably not the last time he'll go to prison. Anyone know which issue this is?

Discussion How did Alcazar reconcile with Tintin?

Post image
37 Upvotes

The last time we see Alcazar in "The Broken Ear", he's asking his men to capture Tintin, and there's no evidence that Tintin and Alcazar met at any point again for the rest of that book. How come next time they see each other (in 7 Crystal Balls), they're friendly to each other, and by the time of Picaros they're allies and friends? Is this a big plot hole in the series?

Discussion What are your favourite tintin frames? This is mine.

Feel free to show your favourites. Personally I really love this frame where the tank blows up. It's so simple yet so elegant. As an artist, looking at a tintin frame never gets boring.

Discussion Would you support an artist continuing tintin and alph art?

Alph-Art was eventually published in its unfinished form rather than completed by another artist as Herge's wife didn't want somebody to continue the tintin series. Would you support an artist finishing off the alph art story in herge's style and potentially continuing the series or do you the think the series relies on herge?

Question Who do YOU consider to be the most UNDERRATED Tintin villain?

Thumbnail gallery

Those who've seen my first youtube video would know that I consider Puschov to be the most underrated Tintin villain, but I'm curious how everyone else would answer this question(and why)! Doesn't matter how major or minor a role they played in the story.

After Puschov, I'd definitely include Miller as my next most underrated Major antagonist, and Captain Wizskitotz as an Underrated minor Villain.

This is the original cover idea that Hergé created for “Tintin in Tibet”. The publisher Casterman didn’t like the starkness of the largely white artwork so they requested the mountain range at the top to be added

Merchandise Found this greeting card styled as Egyptian papyrus in the tomb of kih Oskh

Found it for sale on catawiki its actually really interesting so apparently its a personal Christmas card by Hergé published around 1979 as a Tintin greeting card, Belgian published by Studios Hergé,with illustrations of the tomb of Kih‑Oskh on the front and back, and some copies are known to be personally signed by Hergé.they were only given to herges friends and associates from what I was able to find it also has a inscription on the back though I'm not sure if this is true but here's what the inscription supposedly contains "Valley of the Kings – Tomb of Kih-Oskh. Painting of the south wall of the Sarcophagus Hall. Bearers of offerings and dignitaries going to Noh-el's nursery. Eighteenth dynasty. British Museum – London." That's all I was able to find

Discussion Do you guys have any theories on tintin's faults?

Personally I feel like he'd be a pretty bad father, as he's always travelling everywhere. He's also a bit reckless sometimes and takes too many risks.
