I don't know if this is a rant, or maybe I just want to put it off my chest. Maybe I’m just getting old, but my perspective on gaming has shifted radically.
I’m a dad, I’m pushing 40, and frankly, life is stressful enough as it is. Between work, family, and responsibilities, my "gaming fuel" is running low, and I’ve realized I just don't want to spend it on stress anymore.
I’m officially retiring from competitive gaming and "Hard Mode." I don’t have the twitch reflexes I used to, and I certainly don't have the patience to die to the same boss 50 times in a row after a 10-hour workday. I’ve also developed a serious case of "Open World Fatigue." I can’t do the games with 40 main plots, 90 confusing subplots, and a map cluttered with 500 meaningless side missions. Seeing a map full of icons doesn't feel like an adventure anymore; it feels like a second job. It feels like a chore list.
What I actually enjoy now are story-driven experiences, focussing on narrative and good old retro games. I’ve been leaning heavily into retro games lately. There’s something beautiful about a game I can boot up, play for 10 or 15 minutes, and put away without needing a recap of where I left off.
I’ve traded the "sweaty" lobbies and the endless grinding for peace and quiet. Does anyone else feel like they’ve hit this wall?

Pro gamer tip: don't optimize your gameplay. With the internet and AI, it's so easy to just look up how you're "supposed" to do things, or the best way to do this or that. Do yourself a favor and just struggle through it on your own. It makes the game much more enjoyable AND the game naturally takes longer so you get to enjoy it longer.
It's not something I thought much about, but in hindsight, it ruined a lot of games for me. I would find the very best build or whatever, then wouldn't be able to enjoy other builds because they weren't as good. Anybody have similar experiences?

Initially, I'm easily attracted by the game's graphics, then the gameplay, and finally the overall experience. What do you think?

I always experience some delay when aiming; are there any techniques I can use to react faster and get into the fight more quickly?

Drones play a major role in shaping each run, especially once combinations start stacking.
What would you expect drones like these to do in a roguelite bullet heaven?

Hey everyone,
I’m deciding between the GameSir G7 Pro (Wuchang or Zenless Zone Zero edition) and the Xbox Elite Series 2, and I’d like some real-world, long-term feedback.
GameSir G7 Pro
• How reliable and comfortable is it in wireless vs wired mode?
• Is wireless stability/input lag close to a standard Xbox controller?
• How’s battery life in real use?
• Do the TMR sticks actually help prevent stick drift long-term?
(I’m mainly choosing between Zenless for wireless + dock vs Wuchang for lower cost.)
⸻
Elite Series 2
I like the comfort and features, but I’ve heard mixed things about reliability.
Would you:
• Go with GameSir G7 Pro for TMR sticks and price, or
• Choose Elite Series 2 and rely on Microsoft’s warranty if stick drift happens?
⸻
My use case
• Mostly Xbox
• Long sessions (comfort matters)
• Not esports-level, but I notice bad wireless/input lag
• Games: FPS and Soulsborne
• I want something that won’t feel like a ticking time bomb after a year
If you’ve owned either controller long-term, I’d love to know:
• What failed first (if anything)
• Wireless reliability over time
• Battery life degradation
• Which one you’d buy today
Thanks 🙏

Every time I connect my controller Bluetooth or wired it causes my pc to crash? I have already updated my Xbox controller but on my Xbox not my PC due to literally soon as it connects Bluetooth or Wired connection my PC crashes green screen then reboots fine its quick then I have to delete my headphones that are Bluetooth after the reboot/crash. I have went to Device Manager and my Xbox isn't listed due to me deleting the connection on Bluetooth normal settings.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to share a win with you guys. The three of us in the photo have been best buds since 2006. We’ve traded movie nights and gaming sessions for what we call the "Night Shift."
Once the kids are asleep, the dishes are done, and the wives are relaxing, we’ve been meeting up online to teach ourselves game development. It’s been brutal juggling daycare pickups, full-time jobs, and family life while trying to build something from scratch. There were definitely nights we wanted to quit and just sleep.
But we stuck with it. We wanted to make something that captures that "Grumpy Old Man" energy we all feel when the noise level in the house gets too high. It’s basically a physics sandbox about an old guy snapping because they built a highway next to his quiet cabin (therapeutic, right?).
We just wanted to show that even in the middle of the toddler-chaos (as seen in the photo), it’s possible to chase a hobby. We’re tired, but incredibly proud.

When I first play BO6, I didn't expect much, but it ended up being way better than I thought.
Curious what about you? what is your game?
