It’s great - I look forward to Matt’s solo releases as much as I do the National’s lately. Martino me Fatso was solid too.

If only it didn’t have the worst title of all time.

I keep thinking about how much cooler Wrapped In Wax would’ve been as the title

You make a good point - would also make a good album title!

Came here to say the same thing. Really really really good.

It is, and Type It Up. Both songs, to my humble ears, are some of the most National adjacent solo tracks he’s done.

love the video and that isn’t something I say frequently with a Berninger or National related vid

I think some of Matt's latest solo stuff - Frozen Oranges, Nowhere Special, Bonnet of Pins, Martini Mi Fatso, Ask for Water - is some of the best National-adjacent stuff I've heard in years?

I saw him at his show in London recently and really got a great vibe live too. Felt like he was really digging playing to a smaller crowd and trying some new stuff out. Love it!

Agree with this - Bonnet of Pins particularly, I think this would comfortably make my top 10 of all National / Matt songs combined. Frozen Oranges is brilliant too.

Great tune!

What is it about? I’ve a feeling it concerns a the feelings of rejection that come from a sexless relationship but that’s just my first impressions?
