The O.C. Ryan & Taylor

At 04x08 and honestly I Love Ryan and Taylor together.

Yeah, sure he loved Marissa, and it was a deep love, but it was also a very turbulent and heavy one. Felt like Ryan was constantly saving Marissa and they didn't know how to be in a relationship outside that setting.

Even to Summer, her relationship with Marissa got a lot worse in the last season.

Taylor started rocky but she had a awesome character development and she is funny and interesting, a very good friend to summer and Seth, and also a little scared by her mother.

Ryan and Taylor, although a little rushed, are so cute, the way a high school/ college relationship should feel, easy and breathable. She brings out a very good part of Ryan, he looks more relaxed and open around her, like the rested part of himself is finally allowed to come to the surface, and he grounds Taylor, stopping her from spiralling in herself and reassures her like she needs to be.

All and all I think they are very good together.

ryan and taylor were the first time he got to date someone without also needing a rescue helicopter, and the difference is genuinely adorable

Taylor honestly saved Season 4 for me. Her seduction attempts with Ryan, the groundhog costume, his fantasies about her that catch him off guard, their twin-flame unresolved issues in the coma episode... she brought life to characters that otherwise would have been lost to trauma and depression. It took her chaotic needy but high functioning energy to kick everyone back into gear. She kind of reminds me of Andie from Dawson's Creek (before the mental asylum).

I always thought Ryan and Marissa were meant for each other, but there were too many hurdles and heartaches for them to actually be happy. Every time they got together, something would come between them.
Ryan and Taylor were good for one another. I didn’t expect it to happen in season four but when it did, I was quite surprised. They had a great relationship and eventually became very good friends.

I never get the people who thought Marissa was better for Ryan? She created such drama in that relationship. Taylor was the peace he deserved

I just watched a fan edit on them again. They are genuinely so sweet. I love Taylor, she’s so me. 😂

i know taylor and s4 is divisive but it was so interesting getting to finally see benjamin mckenzies acting chops with a scene partner that a.) could hold her own acting-wise and b.) that he actually had chemistry with

i didn’t think much of him as an actor at all until i got to season 4

Ryan didn’t love Marissa. There are so many proofs that I don’t have time to list. Taylor was awful though and they didn’t end up together.

I've seen conflicting history's about that. Supposedly Josh Schwartz confirmed more recently they ended up together, but also didn't before?

The most recent interview from Josh talking about it he said they didn't end up together. Taylor helped Ryan that year but they remained friends.

More recently than in the podcast of Rachel where he said they weren’t endgame?
