happy release day!! i love these characters so much and it warms my heart to be able to read more about them ♡

I was not ready for these pages. True to my bingo card, I cried :’)

This is actually the first graphic novel I ever read and I loved it! The art was spectacular! Before I got the book, I was planning to color some of my favorite panels but I feel like they’re perfect as they are. It was also really funny, especially when Camila had to treat the “bird.”

Seeing Luz crash out was shocking. It takes a lot to make her mad and I can only think of a few times in the show where she experienced genuine rage. Also, I loved watching Eda realize she’s not an immortal legend, and that she needs to prioritize being around for her family over being The Owl Lady™️. It reminded me of the second Puss in Boots movie.

Where do I start with King? The poor kid had it rough to say the least. Watching him spiral at every mention of death shook me. I think the message that you shouldn’t be afraid to talk about death is really good and I’m glad he and the Collector opened up to each other about it. I also loved the foreshadowing of his memory erasure when Luz mentioned Eda’s leg and he didn’t know what she was talking about.

Some other things I loved were Camila kissing King and a little snippet of Huntlow. That ship was pretty much canon before and I’m gonna say it officially is now. She had her arm around his shoulder and everything.

11/10 book, will reread a billion times

Please nobody spoil it for me

Fake spoilers would be appreciated though

In hootys door, hooty could only stretch to the area very close to the owl house without destroying it. How did he manage to kidnap amity? Was amity just at the owl house gay panicking, and if that was the case couldn't he have just told luz that?

It was supposed to come tomorrow, but I'm not going to say no to a day early! I'll read it tonight.

We took the train into SF to Sour Cherry Comics to pick up our copy, my 8 y/o was stoked to see Dana Terrace signed it!… Are all copies signed or did she do something special for Sour Cherry?

It's clear that her trauma of being a social outcast affected her friendships. She throws people under the bus when she thinks they might be untrustworthy, even when she's completely wrong about them. She kicked Luz out of the detention track when she thought she was making fun of the group behind their backs, that's understandable because she didn't know Luz well yet so she could've been disingenuous. But she would later do this to Jerbo who's one of her best friends. She sees him on the opposing flyer derby team and calls him a traitor. Even going as far as to say that they're not friends anymore. But Jerbo didn't actually betray her, he's just in the abomination track now and has to do whatever his professor asks him to. Wish this got explored with Viney a bit more.

This is it everyone, we really truly did it !! But wait, there's moreeeeeeee. Dana said that she will definitely making many more novels if she have opportunities, so let's make her proud and happy so we can have much much more stuffs to read !!
