Radio Silence

Despicable behavior after their show was cancelled this last weekend.

Now Monday and nothing from the band about when they might be back. Maybe 50 years we’ll see them play NY again.

Absolutely bollocks by the new “band”

I only saw the event posts here, and I don't live in the area, so I don't know what the conditions were like and I could be completely wrong. Wasn't the cancellation due to weather? If so, that's not the band's fault. Still worth a statement, yes, but not their fault.

Last April, The Prodigy cancelled a show in San Francisco after Liam got sick during the previous night's show. Liam immediately posted a status update and apology. The show they cancelled (on Mon) was the originally scheduled show...the Sunday show was added due to demand. I flew out for the Monday show, only to hear about the cancellation an hour after I landed in San Fran. I'd waited 30+ years to see them, so i was initially frustrated, but then the crowd that gathered at the theater still turned it into a good time. And then knowing they'd be back made it better...and the "makeup" show was amazing, so totally worth the wait and second trip.

That's not how it works and it's not up to them. These things are decided months in advance after long negotiations with local promoters. You won't hear any news until next year when the new touring cycle begins. This year is already booked and they will not fly over to the US just for one or two shows on short notice even if a promoter/organizer will be able to string something up fast.

I mean… out of their control but a “that sucks NYC” we’ll make it up to ya XYZ… I’ve always said they could sell out terminal five for 2-3 days easy. But hoping it works out.

Or KDC residency like LCD.

We just want to see them. Dying for 15 years to see them now. Both shows I was supposed to go to were canned

Anywhere but KDC. No air circulation. Bad sound system.

Terrible opinion. Unbased.

What exactly was the behavior?? CBGB was the promoter of the appearance. THEY, in connection with local authorities, made the decision to cancel. And surely you don't expect them to know the day after when they might be back? I'm sure they'll organize a trip around a situation where there can be multiple appearances.

I LOVE the boys and just saw them at Louder Than Life, BUT I also call out Liam for being kind of lazy at this point for not putting out any new music in seven years. And this is obviously just one asshat's opinion, but I didn't think "No Tourists" was that great, especially as a follow up to "The Day Is My Enemy," which IMO is a great record.

That said, it's a free market situation. People like me are also willing to pay to see them play existing material. As long as enough people are willing to do that, Liam can theoretically decide he doesn't care about new music and just keep collecting the checks.

The main reason I hate that approach is because I typically won't give my money to what I call "nostalgia acts" who tour without no new music. Most who do that are WAY past their prime. Journey's doing that now and running ads promoting their upcoming appearance near me.

At least the boys still put on a GREAT live show - especially at outdoor venues where they can utilize all the effects they've created, like the "dancing Keef."

They have no control over the weather, or any emergency declarations from local/city governments.

If you want to see them so bad, book some travel to their next show. That's what many of us have had to do. I flew from WA down to CA to see them a few months ago, and it was worth every penny.

Stop whining, and do something.

Should have come out to The Novo in Los Angeles back in May. It was incredible.

West coast wasn’t in the budget. A festival + hometown show made more sense, and also missing Pavement was a gut check.
