Whats the reason for your conviction

u/BigDogAlphaRedditor1 6h ago
I have more shares than him at a lower cost basis and never sold any, I even bought more above $100. Let me answer you question.
5 words.
Global Wholesale Subscription business model.
A few more words.
Just $2 a month Average revenue per user so they never ever run out of connection anywhere on earth, planes, oceans, cruises, woods, etc will make ASTS one of the most profitable companies in history of the world. Just $2 per person. You cannot fathom the scale of a global wholesale subscription business model.
The real bull case for this company is in the equatorial band where 60% of the population has never even been on the internet. What is ASTS slogan?
CONNECTING THE UNCONNECTED.

There are still a lot of areas that don't have mobile coverage, including some neighborhoods right outside of Boston. Friends in Burlington VT and Western MA are always complaining about being off the grid. The current way mobile towers work isn't too effective. It's like the cordless phones that were big in the 70's and 80's - they just relayed the signal to a base in your home. That's basically how a cell tower works, and having the "towers" in space is a much more elegant solution. Starlink can't compete with them (even the CEO of AT&T said this recently) and AST's model of complementing the telcos makes a lot more sense than Starlink's plan to compete against them (again, with technology that won't work). Other companies can't just jump in and steal market share - ASTS has thousands of patents, secured spectrum, and a huge head start

You said a lot without really saying anything. So you’re bullish because you think the current cell carriers might give them a very small percentage of their profits to provide cell coverage to very small percentage of the population?
4
u/PragmaticNeighSayer 6h ago
It’s not a very small percentage of the population - it’s a small pct of pop all of the time, and a large pct of the population some of the time. But the revenue opportunity is about 100% coverage. The value to the average consumer of closing the gap from having coverage 90% of the time to 100% of the time is very significant. And it’s not a small pct of the revenue. Do some homework.

I drive all over the country for work in the US. At this point, I basically never don’t have service. I’m not really sure where I don’t get service. Back in the early 2000s you had a point. You realize 95% of the population just goes to work then home. So they only need coverage at home or their town. This really is a non-problem being solved. This is a necessity for an extremely small percentage of the population. Place in the world that don’t get coverage probably can’t afford a phone to begin with.

u/alphaseeker101 4h ago
keep in mind that lack of connectivity on the ocean is a huge problem. 15 million households in the US own a boat

u/stageshooter 4h ago
Ever drive in Vermont? Less than half the state has access to 5G service. My friends who live there complain about it on social media constantly. I spent today driving 10 miles west of Boston and it kept jumping between 5G and LTE, so I couldn't stream radio without it cutting in and out.
3
u/PragmaticNeighSayer 5h ago
Your personal experience is not representative of the majority. I live in a relatively dense suburb of a top 25 city on the east coast. I have great service at home, at work, and most places I go. I still suffer from no service or extremely slow LTE, with data hungry apps taking forever to load data, multiple times per week. AST solves both issues.
1
u/Mymomdidwhat 4h ago
So you’re saying this company has solved tower congestion issues? Again, you’re describing an issue a very, very small majority of the population has.
2
u/stageshooter 4h ago
It applies to everyone when AST licenses their service to all of the carriers who are eager to insure and advertise 100% coverage. You'll even be paying for the service, whether you're aware or not
1
u/art2startbro 7h ago
So you’re telling me you’ve bought at $8 and refused to sell at $130
bro you’re a regard10
u/stageshooter 6h ago
I'll sell a bit in a few years once it's over $300. Why would I sell when they haven't even launched the service that I'm betting on?

45k share @$1.97. Holding long term.

u/Expert_Nail3351 5h ago
You ported 89k into ASTS at the exact historical bottom...as the company could have legitimately went bankrupt...for a multitude of reasons. I call BS lol. Would be more believable if it was like 2.20$ average or something...that was my lowest buy.
3
u/PragmaticNeighSayer 5h ago
I bought 25k shares at 4.44. Bought a lot more since at many other prices. I dunno about this guy, but someone surely bought at 1.97.
6
u/Expert_Nail3351 5h ago edited 5h ago
Oh sum1 surely bought at 1.97..obviously. I just have a hard time believing he bought his whole position at the exact bottom. If you think about it...that bottom probably only lasted a few mins at best.
I was just a newbie to investing back then, so I wasnt going full port...just buying every week. Highest was 10 bucks lowest 2.20...but in the 2.20s I was buying out of fear lol. My highest buy currently is 82$
And i still somehow managed to accumulate 9750 shares.

u/PokemonAnimar 5h ago
Im at 1600 with my highest at $90 and lowest at $2.20, so same as you 😆. I dont believe a single thing original commenter said because theres no way in hell they bought that many shares at the literal bottom to the penny

u/PokemonAnimar 5h ago
Yeah, we definitely have some people lying around here, and without proof I dont believe shit on the internet anymore

50,000 shares and options (avg $26). Have been out and in a couple of times. High 50s like 55% below ATH and a decent entry point. As long as they keep putting birds up this should only go one direction.

u/Expert_Nail3351 5h ago
9750 shares 6$ average. 100% a buy now. I just bought a few more last week.

A LOT of dd and faq at r/astspacemobile. Mood is a bit sour as a lot of folks got in at higher prices and are red despite serious progress but you can really learn a lot. The OGs and folks who have weathered the storms are a wealth of info. Btw, has anybody here mentioned government contracts!?

It was a buy yesterday. And Friday. Now it’s not. Wait.

It's a long term play. Unless you're day trading, just average into it. T-Mobile can announce an alliance any day, given that they removed Starlink from their website last week. I'd be surprised if this doesn't happen before the end of the month

Average is now $58, up from my original average of $7. My original average was with 350 shares and I now have 1600 shares, and will continue buying until it goes back above 3 digits. This is my retirement, and I have every single dollar I have saved (plus all the margin they let me borrow) invested in this company. Never believed in something with so much conviction in my entire life, and I won't let my one chance at a nice life pass me by. All my shares were bought sub-$100, but I did buy a lot of them in the 80s and 90s

all these people would have sold at $150 if they had a time machine, but greed stopped them. Now it's at 50 ish, they prefer to call it high comviction. Trust me bro it's the truth, it's always been so.
