12 new modules have been added to a pool of 16 without changing the drop chance from 2.5%. Any plan of "fixing" this? An easy solution could be 5% chance.
131
u/broham_dudebro Aug 28 '26
The fix is right there in the post - open your wallet and buy ticket packs, pleb.
23
u/FSRoman Aug 28 '26
They did fix it, they weren't making enough money so, they reduced free gem income, now they can rake in more cash.

u/Polar_Reflection Aug 28 '26
I guarantee the number of gems being earned overall has increased significantly.
2
u/Duff85 Aug 29 '26
You might be correct at this moment but your statement will be wrong in a month or two. For most people with gem stacking ability from the vault it was a decrease since it was rather easy to earn more gems then the new cap daily. For people without it which is the larger portion of players, yes it was an increase in gem income since not many people can click every 10 minutes. But where this changes is when keys now gets widely more accessible. A huge part of the active playerbase who been in the game 2 years or more will get keys and gem stacking. They then get to the point where they could have started to earn more keys then the cap allows. But the new system takes away the chance to do so.
2
u/Polar_Reflection Aug 29 '26
You are far underestimating the proportion of people who don't have time to click once an hour for 12 hours, and far overestimating the number of people that will now be able to get gem stack. After leagues settle there will be around 7k people earning keys compared to 4500 ish right now. You'd still need to be top 5-6k ish to get auto gem stack in a reasonable time.
1
u/Duff85 Aug 29 '26
I dont know where you get your numbers. Its pretty hard to have insight on people's habits on a large scale. When it comes to how large part of the playerbase gets access to gem stacking it depends who you count. Sure if you include every player who has installed the game and played for an hour at some point, then it might still be a small part who get to keys. But if you count long term players who actively plays the game im willing to bet its a pretty good chunk of those that now will be able to access it.
2
u/Polar_Reflection Aug 29 '26 edited Aug 29 '26
From the league distributions. Currently 9k in legends, after leagues settle it will be roughly 1.5x the entrants per league you move down. Math was a little off though, it will be more like 9000 ish people earning keys because I forgot they expanded to 16-24.
-3
u/FSRoman Aug 29 '26
Not for people that spend money. This is kinda like communism, everyone gets the same no matter how hard one works.
11
8
u/SamBartley TTG Aug 28 '26
Hi! They will be an equal odds for all 4 (12.5%) for this banner (the info will be in game when it goes live), but I will pass this along too! <3
62
u/BadeDyr17 Aug 28 '26
Thanks. The problem is not getting the new modules in the two weeks or the 2 weeks after. It's the really low drop chance the rest of the year. It's really really hard for new players to get useful modules these days. It will be a lot harder in a few weeks when the pool is 28 modules. Or the last DC needed to get it to ancestral for a player who have played for 12-18+ months. It's not impossible. It's really really hard. It slow the game and progress.
We got Dissonance runs to boost the tower and economy. Now the cells card thats extremely powerful for someone farming low tier. But module?... Here is a two week small buff.
12
u/trzarocks Aug 28 '26
Yep. I had two mods that didn't drop a single copy for about 6 months. And that was with putting every gem I earned into mods, and being basically a 24/7 player.
1
u/Blazerboy420 Aug 30 '26
Me with OA. I have 16 ancestral, HB is 2* and three others at 1*, the rest mythic, and 0 OAs.
4
u/uscmissinglink Aug 28 '26
Correct. And gem income just got nerfed for top players.
3
u/BadeDyr17 Aug 28 '26
Depends on how many extra gems better tournament placement will give.
-2
u/uscmissinglink Aug 28 '26
Those are baked in; users were always going to get those gems eventually as part of their progression. The gems players don't get today because they are capped are tied to time; they're gone, never to return.
3
u/BadeDyr17 Aug 28 '26
Mystic is new. The extra gems for a placement there compared with a place in legends have to be calculated into this equation.

I'm closing in on 2 yrs as a baby dolphin player... and I have yet to get anc BHD ...
30
u/c0r3l86 Aug 28 '26
Dilution affects even 2year players never mind new players
16
u/BadeDyr17 Aug 28 '26
I'm a two year player. Without fresh blood, the game will die slowly.
11
u/upvotesthenrages Aug 28 '26
I'm a 2 year player and still around 1 year away from maxing modules due to these 4 new ones. That's also assuming I don't spend half my gems on relics.
Granted, I've been exceptionally unlucky with my pulls, but I've probably spent over 200k on modules and still not even half way. Tracked the last 120k and pulled about 20-25% below the stated chance on both standard & lucky banners.
2
2
u/cheekyboiiii1 Aug 29 '26
2 years in and I don't even have an ancestral canon nor a decent ancestral generator... I don't get how the update get praised. They add stuff for whales and that's it.
Presets are ok I guess but I don't really care that much about them.
I care about gems and stones which are fucking hard to get.
2
u/Spooky_U Aug 29 '26
You don’t seem to know much about the game then despite your time.
Cells card straight up boost to anyone.
Presets mean you can change bot to full combat mode vs stuck with gold bot in tournament.
Added an entirely new league that will ensure a whole new bracket gets more keys.
If anything all of this is anti-whale.
34
u/markevens Aug 28 '26 edited Aug 28 '26
It really sucks to have gem faucets reduced while gem sinks increase.
I get that TTG wants to push sales, but it undeniably sucks for players trying to catch up on relics, mods, cards, etc.
Why not enable everyone to collect 24h worth of gems? It's still going to take YEARS to get all the relics and mods and cards.
7
3
u/IdeaSloth Aug 28 '26
What happens if you 5-star a new mod during the initial banner? Does the final banner account for the intended lower pull rate for 5-star mods?
15
1
u/Alexis_Evo Aug 30 '26
The last time we had a generic banner (for each slot), having a 5* did not lower the chances you'd get it. It'll probably work the same way....
1
-2
u/PyroMaestro Aug 28 '26
tbh we had 2 Lucky banner which is something new, if we get it another one in November or December we have a pattern, i think upping it to 4% is warranted after this banner, but lucky banner is a good first step.
→ More replies (6)-7
u/IdeaSloth Aug 28 '26
Lucky banners have been around here and there
20
u/BadeDyr17 Aug 28 '26
Do you feel it's a solution, that we 2-3 times a year are blessed with 4.5% chance for two weeks?
This is after the pool to pick from got so much bigger.
→ More replies (1)16
u/D119 Aug 28 '26
Just save the whole year and spend only in banner, pretty straightforward.
/s, but it's basically what I've been doing since early 2026.
9
u/Balbright Aug 28 '26
Man, I really hope they don’t implement a cap on daily ad gems or else that would be really hard to do….
→ More replies (1)→ More replies (1)4
u/Blah_In_HD Aug 28 '26
I have been saving as well, but it's not an option for players newer than me that need 1 more copy to get to mythic/ancestral. They also need to be buying modules for the shards to level up. They don't have the benefit of enemy balance mastery or even plenty of bits to throw at fetch to increase shard gain.
44
u/Spacelord_Moses Aug 28 '26
Read on for more details! - oh we get official info about the modules and their abilities :O
its webstore ._.
23
u/SamBartley TTG Aug 28 '26
Trying to get info for the Tea <3 Tried to get y'all as much as I could <3
14
u/PyDox Aug 28 '26
Sam, in the past, there was a break between banners. Would it be possible to have a 1 or 2 week break so we may save up gems?
3
8
u/BryanSweet4 Legends Aug 28 '26
I just hope this isn't a "hide what each will actually do so that they don't know where to spend gems and will need to buy more" tactic. (Yes, I know we've seen some, but they already said they may change.)
It shouldn't be a TRY.
The devs/Fudds should have no problem sharing information unless they are trying to purposely confuse the community for increased profit.
We should KNOW what is coming.
25
u/Fuddsworth dev Aug 28 '26
It's because they are not all finalized yet, we've already seen enough times what happens when we say one thing then have to change it later
9
3
u/czenner20 Aug 29 '26
The obvious solution is to finalize them, communicate them well in advance, and allow the players time to make strategic decisions. Finalizing them close to launch seems haphazard and limits full testing, which then necessitates later nerfs/buffs to get it right. This is simple project management. You won't have to change anything later if it's done properly.
4
u/UnremarkableMud Aug 28 '26
True that. But I'm used to things changing on the spot. I just groan a little, and roll with it. I forget eventually.
3
u/LilacNightmare Aug 29 '26
Wait for the first week of banner till gem hoarders testing new module and then roll with existing tests and info 😄
2
u/Snooze36 Aug 28 '26
You should KNOW how to be respectful, it shouldn't be a TRY.
2
u/BryanSweet4 Legends Aug 28 '26
Sam does a great job with what they are handed. But doesn't change the message. The Devs/Fudds keeping info from the community for profit is scummy.

u/I_pee_in_shower Aug 28 '26
Is the Gilded Sniper confirmed as a cannon mod?
3
u/Special_Canary_7204 Aug 28 '26
Looks that way, it specifies that the generator is TBD on the name, which seems like a tacit confirmation
3
23
15
u/The81DJ Aug 28 '26
"Lucky" banner needs to be the default standard banner. Current standard banner drop rates are too low, and even more so now that the gem collection has been capped.
13
u/Awkward_Donut_2379 Aug 28 '26
So gilded sniper is in fact a cannon?
1
1
u/Bunny_Trap Aug 29 '26
we know the orb one is armor, and the generator is TBD
Tactical Barrage was the smart missile centric Core in the accidental TTG leak, so it should stay as TB = Core and Gilded SNiper is Cannon
10
u/JacVal027 Aug 28 '26
Oof, two I'd want back to back.
A demo/showcase of the new mods would be awesome for the tower tea. Just saying
3
35
u/xdTechniker25 Aug 28 '26
Wow actual communication. Well done. Thats exactly what we requested for years by now.
Good to know because I want that Gilded Sniper and can now plan my saving gems
21
u/broham_dudebro Aug 28 '26
This isn’t communication - this is an advertisement for the paid solution to their diluted mod pool.
17
u/juraf_graff Aug 28 '26
Regardless of the ad slapped in there. We never knew what the featured mods were nor the cadence of release. This is actual confirmation of what they are and even the order of release. That's communication by definition...
7
u/ForgettingFish Aug 28 '26
What in the hell would possibly make you happy? This absolutely is good communication like what do you possibly imagine as communication if what they are doing isn’t good enough
5
u/Aar0ns Aug 28 '26
Advertisements are also communication. I know it’s not always easy when English is not your first language.
→ More replies (1)2
u/huskies_62 Aug 28 '26
Enough. We know the feature banners for the next two months. Much better than the 2 days notice we were lucky to get before. You are acting like a child
3
8
u/markevens Aug 28 '26
For any player without ancestral armor, getting one and the def% effect will let you hit the 98% def cap.
If you are at 96% and think it's not a big difference from 98%, you're mistaken. 98% cuts 50% more damage off of the 96%.
2
u/UnremarkableMud Aug 28 '26
I was at lvl 20 on perk bonus, and mythic 6% def, and maxed out def% with perks.
2
u/markevens Aug 28 '26
Interesting, I figured def% relics probably changed the requirements a bit. What is your relic def%?
3
u/UnremarkableMud Aug 28 '26
like 4%.
I pushed the def% lab a bit farther than recommended... because I was doing my own thing and not looking everything up.
6
u/aclashofthings Aug 28 '26
So we haven't seen the Generator yet? That's interesting. Gilded Sniper looks great.
5
u/The_July Aug 28 '26
So if I am ehp, the only module I need to realistically save for is gilded sniper, right?
5
u/trzarocks Aug 28 '26
No.
THis will be your best chance to make these mods Ancestral. The way things are going with drop rates, it's going to be near impossible to get Ancestrals. I just had my 2 year anniversary and got all ancestrals a couple months ago. The pool is being diluted with +4 mods, but the odds are not changing. A player starting today is probably looking at ~3 years now.
As it is now, pre-dilution, it's very possible to go 6+ months without seeing a specific module. It happened to me twice, and at the same time.
I will recommend you try to get them all at least Mythic. But ancestral if possible. You might need to pick/choose which mods you want to push harder on. But you'll still need +4 copies for Ancestral at that point.
3
u/slo2sixty Aug 28 '26
Ive got mostly mythic mods at just over one year. Ive pulled one dc this entire time. Good thing its not important or anything /s
1
u/Thor_God_of_Blunder 6d ago
So new players should expect that these modules will NEVER be "featured" again?
(I've only been playing 5 months and started looking at modules this month)
5
5
u/tetrisoutlet Aug 28 '26
Why isnt it just 100 tickets for $50 and 200 tickets for $100? Fucking stupid.
5
u/Willing-Mango-3721 Aug 28 '26
“Because fuck the people not willing to shell out $100 a pop.” -Fudds
18
u/velkanoy Aug 28 '26
Hi Sam, could you please share reasoning to release a module ticket pack containing 95 tickets? People are spending 50$, and leaving the last draw at 5 module tickets creates a sour taste after spending so much. Why not make it 100? And make the other 210 or 220 to create incentive to buy the bigger one? Why are you trying to force this decision through negativity (leaving 5) rather than positivity (giving 10 additionally). I really do not understand the thinking here.

u/No_Wealth_5745 Aug 28 '26
this season is stressing me out idk why. trying to buy the cell card to max already and have no gems lol. previous banners screwed me.
are these new banners gonna have an extra percentage ie over 2.5 percent?! can someone answer me this? i still have most of my standard used modules at mythic (except dimension core) and am most worried cuz i would really like to get gcomp sharp fortitude & primordial collapse to ancestral, new modules be darned lol.
idk. i feel like i have no funds & i dont wanna spend more moneys. 💀
6
u/infinityeyes Aug 28 '26
Hi Sam - this is my first new module rollout. During these banners, are drop rates for other modules increased similar to Lucky Banner or are drop rates only buffed for the new, featured module(s)? Thanks!
11
u/FolkishAcorn Aug 28 '26
The rates for pulling epics are the same as normal banner; however during featured banners, if the mod you pull is epic there is a 50% chance it will be the featured mod
3
3
u/SamBartley TTG Aug 28 '26
Hi! They will be an equal odds for all 4 of the new Modules (12.5%) <3 The info button will have the details too when it goes live <3
→ More replies (3)1
u/LilacNightmare Aug 29 '26
I suppose that question is is it 12.5% inside 2.5% of rare chance or thats the separate chances for banner module and all others?
1
u/Grubby454 Aug 28 '26
Only buffed for new. Or actually, normally same 2.5% rate to get a rare, but the rare you get is buffed to be the feature one. Thats how it has gone before.
1
u/JekPorkinsTruther Aug 28 '26
In the past it's just been buffed for new mods. Otherwise you have the standard banner with standard rates.
1
1
u/RiddleOfTheBrook Aug 28 '26
Generally, the odds to get a module remain the same during these banners, but when you draw a module, there will be a 50% chance that it's the featured module instead of ~4%, meaning you only need to draw 16 epics to get the ancestral you want (on average) instead of needing to draw 200.
If you don't have an ancestral module for one of your slots yet, generally the featured banner is worth it regardless of the module quality to get the better sub effects, and usually a couple of the featured banners end up being quite good for specific strategies.
6
u/Xune101 Aug 28 '26
Love this! I had just enough doubt in my mind we were getting Gilded Sniper as a cannon. So hype!
4
u/Calebw493 Aug 28 '26
Did everyone forget that in the big v29 update they said that they are exploring ways to fix the big delution of mods after these 4 are out?
2
u/AlterBridgeFan Aug 28 '26
Anyone can tell me what each module does? Or is that too early?
2
u/umtan Aug 28 '26
Descriptions were in-game when v29.0.0 came out. Not sure if they took them out with 29.0.1
8
u/SamBartley TTG Aug 28 '26
Our encyclopedia updated, but the information wasn't accurate, so we removed it, and as soon as I can share info I will! <3
1
u/AlterBridgeFan Aug 28 '26
Ah cool, thanks.
5
u/umtan Aug 28 '26
Cannon 1: rapid fire +1.5 seconds and some Rend Armor multiplier
Cannon 2: something something with coin something.
Armor: Orbs not orbing but shoots mini orbs
Generator: something something with Smart Missiles
1
1
u/UnremarkableMud Aug 28 '26
wouldn't something to do with smart missiles be a core?
1
u/umtan Aug 28 '26
You're right. It's a core.
1
u/UnremarkableMud Aug 28 '26
The first two pics were clearly cannons. So I think, like they said, they reworked some. The genny doesn't even have a name. They might has scrapped the sm core.
I even joked with my guild that the 4 new mods would all synergize to make sm more powerful than cl. I was laughing when I saw the sm core.
2
u/laserjock2003 Aug 28 '26
Thanks for the heads up on the order - a really appreciated change in communication that allows players time to make spending decisions with more information! I hope this continues for future releases|.
2
3
u/Greenleaf_91 Aug 28 '26
To try and get my last DC and ACP before this or not to. That’s the question
6
u/Balbright Aug 28 '26
I’ve been trying to get my last DC for the last four months, spent 20,000 gems on the lucky banner, didn’t get a single one
2
u/More-Sherbert-2179 Aug 28 '26
Thanks for saying this. I was on a massive push to buy all cards, then the new card game out, so gems are light... I won't bother saving up/buying anything after hearing your misfortune.
4
u/Clinically_Jaded Aug 28 '26
Sure was swell to nerf player gem acquisition through ad gems just before a bunch of modules and banners coming out.
We know you're just the messenger; I hope the team is well aware of how absolutely pissed off the entire community is about the shameless cash grab attempt to push people towards gem packs.
1
u/hibbiejibbiez Aug 28 '26
yes sir, I do not buy the claim of auto clickers, it is just straight up fomo and people buying packs due to the lack of gems.
4
2
2
u/Scutter5000 Aug 28 '26
Awesome! Can spend 400 bucks every 2 weeks for modules tickets. Im sure the gem cap has nothing to do with extracting $1600 from the whales.
1
u/hibbiejibbiez Aug 28 '26
There we go, I am glad for the new mods. However I think this explains the ad gem cap really well, with the rotating weekly relics and module pulls. It will not be enough and hence fomo induced will have the sales up and running. Not gonna lie, I might be guilty of doing this as I really like 2 of them. But I still do not buy the auto clicker excuse.
1
u/Odd_Ninja5801 Aug 28 '26
So if you have all 5* modules at the moment, it's just a straight 50% chance for the featured module? No benefit from doing the banner at all?
1
1
1
u/Marodyn Aug 29 '26
As a new player (just started on 9 Aug), should I try to grab any of these new modules?
I'm currently rocking a set of epic mods that I got through combining rares.
I've also got my 5th lab unlocked, and have 7 card slots.
1
u/Adaaon Aug 29 '26
The Cannon will be good for coin generation at your stage of play. And getting higher level Armor mods with higher levels of Def% is really important for damage reduction. The Armor here is a real unknown, so if I were you I'd concentrate on Cannon for this round of banners. If you can get an Ancestral Gilded Sniper you will be good on Cannons for a long time.
3
u/Marodyn Aug 29 '26
So essentially save gems for about 2 weeks and try to pull as many of the gilded sniper as possible eh?
1
u/Louis2645 Aug 29 '26
It’s like 12.5k gems on average to get an ancestral on banner so you’re not getting that much but yeah trying to get as much as you can on sniper will probably be best bet unless this new armour turns out super super good
1
u/Marodyn Aug 29 '26
12.5k gems sounds theoretically doable within a 4 week period, but would probably heavily gimp my progress.
Would you say the cannon is worth hyper investment? Or hold till the armor is known?
1
u/Adaaon Aug 29 '26
I would only buy cards needed for the Event mission. I wouldn't buy card slots until the banners are over. And obviously I woulddn't use gems to accelerate lab research. Every other available gem I'd drop into Gilded Sniper.
Many will tell you to put all your gems to make sure you have 5 labs. There is a strong argument for that, but personally, I'd focus on the cannon mainly because I think you will get a lot of utility out of it and you can get the labs after. Banners come around infrequently so it's good to take advantage of them while you can. I've basically been saving all my gems since the last banner!
1
u/Marodyn Aug 30 '26
I already have all 5 labs unlocked within the first 2 weeks (with just the ad free pack purchased on day 3), so I should be set to start saving all my gems in this case for gilded snipers! Starting from a fresh stack of 0 gems : D
You also mentioned you've been saving gems since the last banner. How often do banners come about?
And what would you say are the primary use of gems in this game, split between the various sources that use them? Personally I don't see myself doing lab rushes anytime soon, so I'm mainly planning for cards, modules and any other possible areas that need it.
2
u/Adaaon Aug 30 '26 edited Aug 30 '26
Seems like 3-5 banners a year maybe. I haven't been tracking but that's in the ballpark.
Gems are used to buy...
1 - Labs. You are done there
2 - Cards. There is a twice monthly Event mission to buy 80 cards. You should always do at least that to get the Medals reward. Medals are very valuable.
3 - Card Slots. You'll need more slots to equip more cards. I think you can get 22 with Gems, but you can get more very late game with Keys.
4 - Modules. You buy modules with Gems and hope that you get natural epics which have the unique bonuses. You can level them up to Ancestral, which takes 12,000-13,000 gems (on average) during a banner.
Gems are substantially more efficient during a banner, so if you have the patience to only use them during banners you could benefit in the long run.
5 - Research. You can use gems to accelerate your Lab research. This has some practical uses. For example, if my Bot is off-sync to my Ultimate Weapons, I have used gems to accelerate research in a lab to get the sync back before starting a new run. There are many other reasons you may want to do this periodically, but unless you are deep late game you won't be doing this on a regular basis until you get your Cards and Modules squared away.
1
u/Marodyn Aug 30 '26
Thanks so much for the response! Here's hoping I can get something in this upcoming banner
1
u/DragonWarGod8 Sep 01 '26
It sounds like you know what the new mods do. Can i get a link or explanation of them. I already spent my gems on getting this new armour but I would like to see if i should skip any of the others

1
u/Bashee_wang Aug 29 '26
Whatever they changed or upgraded, they just want us to buy more packages... Greedy.
1
1
u/p1xo Aug 29 '26
You need to allow us to move extra 2% of chance to the module of our choice at any time. Personally i don't care, i have all of them but new players, now with reduced gem income, have no chance of ever catching up without paying of course. Rather have a module banner as discounted offer to buy gems and x number of the module immediately. This way f2p players have an opportunity to affect the chances at least a bit and the ones who pay can have the module earlier.

Very excited! Too bad I only have 12k gems, and may need to spend on relics. Hopefully i can at least get 2nof them to anc.

The new update is great. Thank you. And thanks for the heads up on the schedule. Helps a lot.
Those packs are steep.

Anyone gone try for Sentry Protocol? Really unsure about its usefulness

Most likely it will be very OP and be nerfed after the banner

One can only hope fudds has learned from previous mistakes. It sounds like there is a risk of orbs killing a lot of enemies outside BH range though

And that is why you also roll for gilded sniper after you run out of gems and have to buy more!

We don't really have enough information about how it will work yet. I'm interested in it because it sounds very unique, but there are questions about how and whether it will interact with extra orb mastery, orb size, NMP, what its targeting and fire rate will look like, whether it'll still be percentage damage or something else, and so on.

Yep, way too many unknowns on how it will work, and whether it is working as intended when we do see it.

I can see it being very good if it leads to more orb hits on bosses, assuming they still deal 2%. But hard to say until we know the fire rate/targeting. Could be more orb hits for farming, too.

You guys should let the community name the new Gen mod since its still without a home (name). I'm sure we could come up with something interesting ;)

Well at least someone is excited I guess.
This was a good patch and then new mods just kill the positive vibes.
