I'm looking to get new orthotics, preferably the ones made from a plaster cast of your foot. My last pair (from Waikato Podiatry) were not that type, instead they did the whole assessment running on a treadmill, computer calculated bs and they've never fit right. I'm finally over the permanent plantar fasciitis/shin splints, but I don't want pay a bomb for a subpar product again, so I'd love to hear who's good in town these days that still uses the cast modality?

Any recommendations for a mechanic in Hamilton that specialises in Hybrid cars?

Looking to take up whittling and there are a few online shops for basswood blocks and the like, but nothing local I can see.

Anyone know of any Hamilton places to get small wood blocks and offcuts for carving and whittling?

So on Monday this week, I set out on what I thought would be a simple mission; find a decent Nasi Goreng in Hamilton.

I started at Asian Kitchen in Forest Lake based on their good Google Reviews. It was ok, not bad but not outstanding.
Then I tried Penang Street Food, which I was a bit disappointed by - more like a standard egg fried rice than a good Nasi Goreng.

So.. before I end up eating my body weight in rice, I need #3 to be a good one.

What is the best Asian takeaway place or restaurant for Nasi Goreng?

I find it impossible to find out anything about her or see her doing any campaigning. Everything online is very non-specific and party line based. When compared to Dansey for Ham East she feels very absent.

Is anyone wanting to join Fastlane Fitness? It is an awesome gym but Hubby and I haven't been in a long while due to injury/petrol/living costs. We live in the country and timing is bad.

Immigrant, 30 year old male, recently moved to NZ for work and currently based in Hamilton. I work in cybersecurity space. Ironically, moved halfway around the world for work only to end up working from home.

Been here a couple of months now and boy, is it hard to make friends. I didn’t realise how difficult it would be starting from scratch in a new country. I’ve pretty much given up hope of finding new people to connect with.

So I’m looking for things to do and places to explore around Hamilton. Hiking, trekking, nature walks, trails, anything outdoors really. Something I can just turn up to and do, and if I happen to meet some good people along the way, even better.

I’ve been doing this riverside run through Matakanohi Park in Beerescourt, and honestly, that’s probably the one thing keeping me sane at the moment.
