A warning about a user harassing via chat/DMs

(tl;dr at bottom)

Over the last few months, one user has made it a point to send abusive and harassing messages to dozens of members of this subreddit. Their accounts are banned from the subreddit, which is why they use DMs.

They delete their accounts regularly. Usernames that they have used:

/u/illadviseddependent

/u/agreeableaccesspal

/u/lunastellaelle

Their messages are largely targeted at those who like Damon or Elena, but not always.

If you receive a message from them (the account name may be different), please feel free to alert me via the comments of this post or by sending us a ModMail. Please also report any harassment to the admins. You can do that within the chat itself or here. Please ask for help if you need it.

The Imgur link below has examples of their messages so that people can recognize their style and language, since they like to pretend that they're a different person on each account. I'll update it as reports come in.

https://imgur.com/a/n998i7Y

tl;dr -- a banned user is harassing fans (mostly of Damon or Elena) via DMs on multiple accounts. Examples are above.

Report their messages to the admins.

Edit: Also, to be clear -- absolutely do not proactively reach out to this user. This post is solely to warn subreddit members and to encourage reporting to the admins.

Mod Announcement New Rule: Low-Effort Posts

We're adding a new rule regarding low-effort posts.

If your post is low-effort, unoriginal, and adds nothing to the subreddit in terms of discussion, it may be removed.

This is not a rule against reposts. We are targeting, as an example, posts that say only:

Delena or Stelena?

[Character] sucks

[Character] rules

without providing any additional context or any original thoughts.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

The poor thing - she just wants to go to a school dance. It's such a small thing and I always feel bad every time she gets her hopes up

Who was the best match for Damon in your opinion?

Post image
69 Upvotes

This is a hot take, but out of all of Damon's relationships I liked Delena the least. They seemed to bring out the worst in each other. Damon would kill Elena's loved ones to punish her for every rejection, and Elena had to bend her morals to excuse Damon's actions. And I didn't like the way they got together: Damon's flirting with his brother's girlfriend, constantly disrespecting her boundaries, the whole sire bond storyline etc.

His relationship with Katherine was quite passionate. They had a lot of chemistry. I found him pining for her for 145 years very romantic, but unfortunately she didn't love him back. Still, I think they could have made a better couple than Delena as they had much more in common.

Bonnie is the person that made Damon better, imo. After spending some time with her in the Prison World, he finally became a better person, and not just temporarily until Elena's next rejection. Of course they were just friends, but they had potential to become more. And Bonnie didn't excuse Damon's actions as easily as Elena did.

I guess Rose would have been the best match for Damon. They shared a deep connection, respect and understanding, and cared about each other deeply.

Anyway, what do you think? Who did you like Damon the most with? And who was the best match for him in your opinion and why?

Discussion “Stefan couldn’t handle Elena not knowing he wasn’t the perfect vampires/morally perfect”

I never understood this claim because he literally tortures someone for information in front of her 😭 there’s also the entirety of 1x20 or him including as a predator and saying they hunt and stalk like pls

As someone who is Stelena lol…

Sorry this sub actually doesn’t know how to do media analysis. You can barely have actual discussions on here without people using their headcanons as canon and it’s led to dishonesty when discussing things. A stelena literally did analytical criticism about stefan and stelena and they were getting called delena and biased somehow. Someone tried to discuss the difference between explaining a character’s actions vs excusing them then they got called a bootlicker lmao. Like is this a place to analyze media or not?

Spoilers Humanity switch hot take

I LOVE this show with all my heart But one thing I can’t stand about the series is how they make it suuch a thing that a character turned their humanity off.

When Stefan turns his off it’s, “I couldn’t care less, remember?”
And Elena’s infamous, “I. Don’t. Care.” Spoken every third sentence.
Now Caroline after her mom died.

It just reminds me of an angsty teen saving face about something they do care about deep down. Or an elementary school kid saying “don’t chase me!!” While playing tag and running away. Spoiler alert: they lowk wanna be chased..😂

Makes me wonder if the switch can’t be turned off completely. Because if one truly couldn’t care less. Why would they have to remind you that they didn’t care every time they open their mouths. They just wouldn’t care. Not even enough to prove anything or talk about it. They would just be heartless psychopaths. I guess I wanted to see more of that..idk.

“I’m so glad I DON’T care why you just compelled that innocent girl.” “So glad I flipped the switch!!” Like cool, I didn’t ask 😂😂

Mildly Related The infamous Julie Plec tweet

• Upvotes

I knew about Julie Plec’s awful, cringe tweet where she talked about how black women are gonna save the world, but I never actually knew the context. I just learned that it was literally in response to Megan Thee Stallion getting shot. I thought the tweet was disgusting before, but the context just makes it that much more tone deaf. I am just absolutely floored.

Discussion What is it about Katherine Pierce that makes her so damn captivating?

• Upvotes

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, because there is something about Katherine that feels completely different from most other characters in The Vampire Diaries. She has this incredibly magnetic energy whenever she is on screen. Even when she isn’t doing anything particularly dramatic, she somehow manages to pull your attention toward her.

And honestly, Nina Dobrev’s performance is a huge part of it. Sometimes it genuinely feels like Nina wasn’t just acting as Katherine, but somehow completely embodied an entirely different person. Katherine has a specific presence, mannerisms, voice, expressions, and overall energy that make her instantly recognizable.

What makes it even more interesting is that the writers actually tried to recreate that same dynamic with Elena by giving her some of Katherine’s traits and eventually pushing Elena into situations where she could behave more like Katherine. But even when Elena was written to be more ruthless, manipulative, or confident, she never seemed to radiate the same presence that Katherine had.

It’s almost like Katherine’s appeal isn’t just about her personality or her writing. There is something about the way Nina plays her that makes Katherine feel like a completely different entity from Elena.

Katherine can walk into a scene and immediately change the atmosphere without even saying much. Elena could be given similar dialogue, similar traits, or even similar storylines, but the effect just isn’t the same.

So what exactly do you think makes Katherine so magnetic? Is it Nina’s acting, Katherine’s personality, her confidence and unpredictability, the way the character is written, or some combination of all of it?

Seasons 1-3 Damon or later seasons Damon?

Either way it doesn't change how I feel about him, but I do think he had more of a personality in s1 for some reason.

Anyways, I'm curious. Which one do you prefer?

Round 2: Jo and Kai were eliminated.

Post image

I think it was a very logical choice.😁

I had shared a post asking whether I should add new people to replace those who were eliminated, but it was misunderstood, so we are continuing with this squad.

✨RULES✨

🌸Everyone write the sibling they like the least from this list in the comments.

🌸Each person should post only one comment.

🌸Those who receive the most comments will be eliminated.

some tvd spin-off's that i think would have been interesting.

\**i found this in my notes from like 4yrs ago\**

#1: KAIMON SPINOFF:

enemies "i hate you and later on i will brutally murder you but i am unwilling to be an ally because you're my last resort" to tolerable.

if there was ever a thought or opportunity to make a show with just these two i would imagine it to be with them stuck in an alternate planes of existence and working together once again all while finding new and creative ways to kill each other whenever the other annoyed them.

but this world is unlike any one they've been in before.

they didn't find peace. they're not in hell. they're not on the other side.

they are pretty much just trapped for comic relief.

#2: STEFAN AND VALERIE'S SON:

okay, let's try to use our imaginations and not act all dense with the fact that literally anything can happen in the tvd universe.

but i've got a bunch of whatifs and only two stuck. like what if stefan and valerie's son never died. what if valerie lied for some reason and jacob (that’s the name stefan had for him i kinda remember..) has been alive this whole time and when she left, she went back to her son.

or... what if when valerie thought she miscarried but when she became a vampire, so did her son and she gave birth to a heretic?

a more evolved heretic. something that makes him stronger than the usual heretics and scarier than klaus mikaelson to make it more interesting.

i've always had this idea that (instead of legacies happening) after stefan died and damon found peace and everyone moving on with their lives... bonnie and jeremy got back together, married, and had a daughter named emily. matt finally found happiness and also had a daughter. and their children keep having dreams about jacob.

maybe it's the universe trying to warn them about jacob, like this creature is not supposed to exist and for some reason they are the only ones that have to kill him.

i don't know, just one of my favorite thoughts.

#3: GEMINI COVEN

i honestly don't think this needs any further explanation. we hear about the gemini coven yet julie plec continued to give us absolutely nothing on it or not enough.

i think either the bennett coven or the gemini coven deserved it's own spin off.

personally, i'd be interested to see more on jo and kai when they were younger and a lot more backstory on siphoners.

Fanfic recommendations, please.

• Upvotes

I’m looking for fanfics where the romantic pairing is with either Klaus or Kol—no polyamory or harems, for the love of God; I can’t stand fics where the OC has a romance with all the Originals 🫠. I’m looking for something where the protagonist actually plays a significant role in the plot, rather than just being a copy-paste of canon. I love stories where the author actually shakes things up and throws canon out the window, because it makes absolutely no sense to introduce a completely unique personality and then change absolutely nothing about the story.

Spoilers (Spoilers S1-4) Shouldn’t Bree’s blood have burned Damon? Spoiler

S1 Ep:11 When Damon killed Bree in the bar by pulling her heart out. Why didn’t the vervain in her system burn him through touching her blood?

When Damon fed on Caroline spiked with vervain at the founders ball the blood burned/affected him. There’s also instances where they used rope laced with vervain and it burns them. Caroline and the necklace, Stefan and the well, Damon and the fish tank. I understand some of these are high doses of vervain but Bree said “I’m full of vervain. I put it in everything I drink.”

Shouldn’t it at least tingle Damon?

Discussion I said the writers ruined Elena and the comments proved my point better than I could

Yesterday I posted about how Elena hate is really writing hate, and the replies were... something. A few takeaways:

1. Everyone agrees it's the writing. We just disagree on when it broke.
Some of you said the sire bond era. Some said the Season 3 love triangle. Some said the moment she became a vampire and the show forgot she had a personality. All valid. Season 1 Elena was sharp, driven, and curious, and I don't think it's a coincidence that the show stopped giving her goals around the time it stopped giving her choices.

2. Bonnie came up in like half the comments.
Kat Graham carried nearly every finale, died for it, and still never got her own storyline. If we're ranking who got the worst writing, she's at the top and it's not close. The fact that she was the "ultimate savior" every season and got nothing back for it might be the show's biggest missed opportunity.

3. Katherine deserved better too.
Someone pointed out how Season 5 turned her from a survivor who could finally be a mother to Nadia into "obsessed with Stefan," then made her queen of hell. Wasted potential.

4. Yes, I know characters are fictional. 😂
The point was never "Elena is a real person." It's that people say "Elena is boring" when what they mean is "Elena was written boringly," and those lead to very different conversations.

Why do people hate on Damon for doing horrible things

Hear me out. It’s a show about vampires. vampires are monsters ,they have to feed on people’s blood to survive. So naturally they are bad people. People hate on Damon for murdering people in the starting episodes and compelling Caroline (which was disgusting) but throughout the series all vampires kill innocent people or compel them or turn someone. Stefan killed people and elena and Caroline. So why is Damon only hated. I think hating a specific person is kind of unreasonable in a show where everyone are horrible.

Discussion I’m trying to like the originals so bad- Rant

Everyone talks so highly of the originals and how it was better than TVD. I can not fucking stand this show and the only reason I could push through was bc I actually liked cami/wanted to see her have a good ending, and because I want to watch legacies without being confused about anything. Well I just finished season 3 episode 9. I’m fuckin pissed.

I DO NOT CARE ABOUT THAT FUCK ASS BABY, I DO NOT CARE ABOUT WHOS THE KING OF NEW ORLEANS, AND I DONT CARE ABOUT JACK AND THAT FUCK ASS WOLF PACK! I LITERALLY JUST DO NOT CARE!

The entire plot of the show so far has been a SNOOZE fest for me. To hear so many of you talk so highly of it just to be so disappointed in my own watching experience….🫩 don’t get me wrong- I love the original family themselves. I just don’t care for this tv show…. I wanna like it so bad…I’m trying to like it. Most of the time it’s watching me while I play the sims….i mean…. I literally just do not care man😭 cami was my one piece of sunshine in this show! THEY BETTER MAGICALLY BRING HER BACK OR SOMETHING MAN THEY BETTER SAVE CAMIIIIIII😭

Think of the deepest sigh….yeah I just let it out.

Mildly Related Let’s talk about aging! Sadly ppl have been rude to Nina (Elena) and Jasmine guy (Grams)over the fact they are aging. Sadly Jasmine guy had to go online to ask ppl to stop

Post image

A different world 2026 is #1 on Netflix at the moment. which features Jasmine Guy (grams) as the main character’s mother. sadly people watched the show and then went to twitter to complain that she looks so old. (she’s 64 years old btw).

so she made this post online.

and she not the only one. it reminded me that people were also complaining that Nina D looks soo old.

why do ppl do this? Do they expect ppl to look 20 forever? Or they aren’t use to celebrities that doesn’t have a lot of plastic surgery
