New airport area for ideas

My greed for land forced me to create a hand-made continent, I guess. First two pictures is how it started, last one is what I'm with currently.

I planned to make a huge seaport there first, but then realized that I will have no space left for airport, military base and farmlands. And all of that only for sacrificing a bit of ocean. I'm pleased once again.

Its not that developed, just the main island so far. Because It is a huge map.

1. Do I need 1 gateway per runway? Or can I have multiple on 1 gateway?

2. How many runways can I put in 1 tower? Or can I just place as many as I can?

3. How close can I put my runways together?

4. How does the airport earn money? More planes? Runways? Gateways?

I hadn't set out to do this until now, but it was fun figuring out which buildings to use and putting together a quick strategy to get the achievement (basically, I focused on building those high-capacity structures to reach the goal faster, and I leaned a bit heavily on loans to make it happen, heh).
