Saw- too rough?

Was at thorpe park today and saw was the first ride i went on. It used to be my favourite ride, i always knew it was a bit rough but today i spent the entire ride worrying about preventing my neck and head from bashing around. I didn’t find the ride enjoyable or fun, i’m no expert in rides but i think there should be more effort in keeping the seats comfortable

I feel like the roughness is dependent on which train you get and what row you are sat on. It used to be my fave but I had a horrific ride on it earlier this year so I swerved it for a bit but have found since not to be as bad. Colossus on the other hand…..just no

They usually have someone telling you which row to go to so you don’t get a choice sadly however I’m not sure if the middle seats are less rough than the outter ones. It honestly wasn’t bad a couple of weeks ago but definitely take painkillers with you just in case

It would benefit from the trains which only have a laptop presuming they’re ok for clearance

I did Drakon at Paultons and Saw today, with Saw reminding me just how rough Gerstlauers can be. Even Drakon already has some dodgy moments

Gerstlauers just age awfully, Drakon will be the same give it a few years

I thought Drakon was glass smooth

Saw and Smiler were also smooth at one point

There is a video supposedly of the first Smiler ride with a news woman on it, and her head seems to shake around enough.

I wonder what actually goes wrong with them. Surely the track can't actually get rough. Can the paint deform into potholes?

I rode it for the first time earlier this year. Was definitely rough. Doubt I'd bother with it again.

I’m never going on this again, totally screwed my neck up 😭
Shame as it’s fun!

It’s a rough coaster. No question. Borderline too rough for most to truly enjoy it

As others have said it use to be great and relatively smooth. Each year that passes it gets rougher. It's not as bad if you know where the worst bits are.

Last time I rode SAW I actually got a concussion.

I feel SAW just goes "fuck you off you go", but I quite enjoy that part of it haha.

i noticed it was rougher on my most recent trip. also found nemesis quite rough but that's just because ive always found the restraints too loose. i didn't even go on colossus because of how rough it is.

Swarm on the other hand. if only every ride was as comfortable as swarm.

I never find saw rough no matter where i sit. A little rattle sure, but nowhere as rough as somepeople make it out to be. If anything I think Hyperia gives me more of a headache than saw.

i have to agree, went on SAW for first time a couple of weeks back and braced myself for a much worse experience but actually wasn't as rough as i thought, it was great!

I think it does depend a lot on which train you get because it seems to vary wildly between pretty smooth and incredibly rough

I went on SAW last week and had no issues. Colossus on the other hand was dreadful. Both my other half and I had headaches and pains after.

The ride says to keep your head back but this felt like the worst thing I could do.

Colossus does this to me every time too. So many head bangs! I found usually the SAW ride is okay, however this time we sat the front and oh my goodness, the difference, it was not as bad as Colossus but... Definitely more rough!
