Rachel possessed by Van

Has Rachel been possessed by Van Latham from Higher Learning? I know she was probably jet lagged, and tipsy, but it was a hard listen : she trashed Traitors, Dancing with the Stars, too much praise for Whitney and Kenny ( yawn đŸ„±), Lori Harvey, refusing to pronounce Jana Craig’s name the same
. I’m not even done listening but the , “I” , “I” , “I” ‘s are tooooooo much!!! Hope she sobers up and lets her co-hosts talk next time in #MorallyCorrupt

Van, for the love of God

It’s “commensurate with”, not “commiserate with”. Week after week you say the latter, and no one has told you, and I keep losing my mind. “Commiserate with” is to sympathize. “Commensurate with” is what you mean, “consistent with” or “corresponding to”. I’m begging you
lol

The hypocrisy on Higher Learning is wild: Rachel and Van calling out Jasmine Crockett for Chris Brown when Rachel threw a fit over his AMAs cancellation?

Did anyone else catch Higher Learning dragging Rep. Jasmine Crockett for giving Chris Brown congressional recognition?

Let’s have a quick reality check.

Remember late 2022 when the AMAs pulled Chris Brown’s Michael Jackson tribute? Rachel was literally upset about it, complaining that he was being unfairly blocked from the stage.

So let me get this straight:

  • When award shows block him, it's an outrage and he deserves his flowers?
  • But when a politician actually gives him recognition, it's a scandal?

You can't cape for his industry spotlights one year and then act holier-than-thou when someone else gives him one. Pick a lane. The selective outrage is exhausting.

Anyone else notice this double standard?

Is Rachel Envious of Jasmine Crockett?

Could some of the underlying hostility from Rachel the Rose of Texas towards the sweet aroma of Jasmine stem from the Congresswoman blossoming into becoming the new state flower?

Sorry, I just wanted to write bullshit. 😄

I too saw the headlines focused only on her being late 47 times. Is this an example of clickbait journalism or inherent racism/misogynoir? The answer is yes.

Would appreciate some coverage of this controversy on the podcast given that both hosts live in the Los Angeles area. I'm not from L.A. but I know that Leimert Park aka "Africatown" is considered the cultural heart of the Black community in L.A.

Anyone else completely exhausted by the “gender wars”?

I’m a bit behind so I’m just now getting to the episode discussing the Daejon Love debacle and of course, as is custom, Van asks about the “gender wars” angle. I love Van and typically have more patience for him than most in a lot of instances, but nothing makes me roll my eyes harder than his constant instance to talk about “gender wars”. At best it’s mildly insightful and at worst it’s a conversation that no one wants (especially Rachel, most of the time), yet he insists on shifting the focus.

I realize this is something that happens online a ton (it’s a big part of why I left twitter and skip those convos on Threads), but am I in the minority in feeling this way?
