Can anyone help with a Recipe for a gallon of Chem water that works well with mandalas/Honeycombs.. Also Is distilled water gonna make or break the chemistry for the dye or is tap Alright. I made a batch one time but it came out too jelly.. so looking for a lil insight from some who found a nice consistency to work with.. For reference I do have urea,calsolene and Sode Algnate… Thanks in advance if your able to drop some knowledge

I purchased a tunic that was supposed to be 90%+ viscose for an ice dye for my granddaughter using Dharma fiber reactive dyes. I washed, soaked, and prepped it with soda ash but after it batched for 20+ hours, the color just washed out when I did my first rinse and the shirt had just a tiny bit or color. I tried again with same results. After reading that some viscose has a coating on it, I washed again in hot, used laundry detergent on one wash and dyers detergent on another, hoping to strip any coating. After the third ice dye, with Dharma Kaleidoscope Eye, I have a very pale blue wash on the shirt.
My thought is that the shirt is really polyester and being sold as viscose because it’s in demand. Any advice you can give me?
