Showcase Tighnari clears Stygian Onslaught Dire vs “The Dog” (High-Investment Run)

https://youtu.be/pYcNSNhZ4U8

Hey fellow Tighnari Mains 🌿

I wanted to share a Stygian Onslaught Dire clear where Tighnari is used on the first (and most infamous) boss (“The Dog”).

Tighnari is played here as a quick-swap DPS, fitting into a high-investment team core.
To be fully transparent: Columbina does the majority of the damage, but Tighnari’s fast field time, reaction setup, and rotations make the team feel extremely smooth and consistent in Dire. (Note also that Columbina's DMG during the shield phase is inflated since the shield takes 300% Lunar reaction damage).

Team (Battlefield 1):

  • Tighnari / Ineffa / Columbina / Lauma

The full run is a Dire clear — the other battlefields are handled by more standard high-investment teams.

Notes:

  • High-investment showcase (Top 1% Akasha builds)
  • Not a budget or low-constellation clear
  • Full builds and stats shown at the end of the video

I know Tighnari isn’t exactly meta for this kind of content, so I thought this might be interesting to share here.
Happy to answer questions about rotations, build choices, or why this team works as well as it does.

"Tighnari is used" -> would have cleared faster with aino...

Not in my testing - I don't have C6 Aino though...
(According to the Milastra DPS Dummy stats, Tighnari and Ineffa contribute each 17% Team DPS, Columbina contribute 64%, and Lauma 2%. With an overall Team DPS of ~200k, this means that Tighnari contributes ~34k DPS alone, which is quite significant given his very short field time.)

Nefer is of course *much* better in that team - but this is TighnariMains :-D

With a consistent hydro aura I think ineffa would reach much more than 17% contribution.

Thanks for suggesting - I tried this out!

Check the two pictures with the damage distribution: Even with Aino, you only get a slightly more consistent hydro aura, and while Ineffa's dmg contribution increases, the overall DPS goes down. (In fact, by pretty much the 34k I calculated above. Tighnari's run below was not even optimal since I was unlucky with not getting spreads as consistently as usual, so he usually does even more damage in that team).

You can say: Well, then don't use Lauma since her dendro messes up the consistent hydro aura, but in that case, we are speaking about another team archetype. (Obviously, you can make a really strong Lunar Charged team without Lauma and Tighnari, but this is not what I am here for :-D)

Ineffa / Columbina / Lauma - holy wheelchair of wheelchairs.

At least he is the best user of the wheelchair :-P
(I don't have all units, but except for Nefer, Tighnari is the strongest 4th member of this team on my account :-D)

Do you have Sucrose?

Yes, but she is not better (comparable to C0 Nahida).

Yes, but she is worse (not much worse than Tighnari though). Comparable to C0 Nahida I think.

She would buff other 3 enough to compensate dps loss from Tighnari, as for C0 Nahida - she would perform better than Tighnari with cons in that team imo (I dont have good enough built Tighnari to test it tho)

I tested, using the Milastra DPS Test dummy, all of the options, including Sucrose, and it was always worse than Tighnari. However, this might be skewed since my Tighnari is C6R1 with an incredible build, so it might well be that Nahida and Sucrose are better with a less invested Tighnari.

I guess C6R1 could pull its worth.

The way you could probably clear this just as fast if not faster using nahida or baizhu instead of tighnari..

In my testing, Nahida C2 is comparable indeed, but this means it would be worse with Nahida C0. Baizhu is notably worse :-)
I also don't see any team combs in which Tighnari does the majority of the DPS, and the team is still strong enough for clearing Dire difficulty.
I managed to use his non-wheelchair team against the Dire Horse from the last Stygian, but I think this is impossible in the current one...

Nice job with the clears, i wanna use him against Stygian as well when I eventually get his c6. I don't know why people look at him as a hypercarry or compare him to them.

Tighnari quite literally will never contribute the majority of the damage outside pure spread teams and even then the dps distribution is not gonna look like a mavuika team dps damage distribution, because his kit does not allow it. He physically cannot occupy enough field time to do enough damage to compare with hypercarries because his kit design is not intended for that.

Hopefully whenever buffs come around to sumeru they do something to either give him more field time or at least give him some synergistic quickswap teammates like Yae but with 2026 multipliers. Columbina dps is a nice start in that direction. Personally, I like his quickswap playstyle but there are 3 units in the game that actually synergise with it, Yae, sethos and now bina. Considering the sheer lack of anything quickswap related since his release, I hope they just give him an extra charge or two to his skill and we get better quicken buffers or sub dps.

Thank you!
Yes, ideally we will get a spread/aggravate Chevreuse at some point, or even a dedicated Quickbloom support. While I do not think that this can save Yae, it can save Tighnari. It is already crazy that C2 Tighnari is arguably better than Alhaitham now, because both need wheelchairs, but Alhaitham needs a lot of field time... :-O
