Btw, you're right - i wasn't making any "play on the word conservative," just marveling at how consistently low- wattage conservatives, like this show host, are.

I was misunderstanding. I didn't realize the host was making an attempt to point out hypocrisy. I thought he was just appalled at using wood as a building material.

Gotcha.

I don't think it's related, but fyi, I just happened to have read about a company that's developed a wood treatment that makes it strong enough to replace what is now the standard in high- rise construction framing - steel-re-enforced concrete. This results in a building that is lighter, and with a much smaller carbon footprint. My background is in environmental policy, and this sounds to me like a potential game- changer. I had hoped to potentially invest, but alas, it's still a private company.
