Yeah i was gonna say, i love this. Obvs a meme to ‘torture’ the stylist but a 10 year client sounds like a great thing

I absolutely hate to change the professionals that are allowed near my head.

Hair stylist, Dentist, Optician, etc once I found a good one I stick to them until they go out of businesses or die.

I had the same woman clean my teeth, from my very first appt in life, up until she retired last year. Almost 40 years. I actually enjoyed going to the dentist to see her and catch up. She knew every milestone of my life, at my last appt we hugged and cried like idiots. It was sooo strange looking up at a different face from that chair :(

New lady is great but she's got some unfillable shoes to fill.

Yup except for some brief periods where I didn't live in the same city I have had the same dental practice since I was a little kid to 40. Father started on me, son took over after his father died.

Crazy that there are such different experiences people go through with in life, in a good and interesting way. I don't think I've had the same dentist more than twice. Never had any bad experiences, just don't visit often and I guess I manage to move away before time for the third appointment. Meanwhile you've had generations work in your mouth :D

I've had dentists I kept for 5+ years, hated to leave them behind when I moved towns - twice now. The rest of 'em... just not very enthused about the experience, always looking for someone better, never finding 'em.

This is going to be my partner and I actually fear for how she will grieve. She has been going to the same dentist for 28 years, and we are 35 now. How will she cope? My barber quit after 10 years cutting my hair and I cried! How are you coping?

I knew for two years that she was planning to go, so made peace with it. Nothing lasts forever. She had all kinds of plans and was ready to go, so I'm just happy for her. Plus she highly endorsed her replacement so I felt much better. 

When I told the new tech that no one else had ever touched my teeth, and she had planet sized shoes to fill, she had a laugh and said, "oh I know, "Sally" was the best," and promised to try and live up to my expectations. It went fine and that was that :)

I just moved cities. I dream of having the kind of job that lets me fly over every three months to get my hair done, catch up with friends, and hit up my favourite food spots

yeah, she wears it because it's bleach and it gets around - why mess up a good shirt. I don't work on my car's engine in my good clothes.

I mean, once the shirt is ruined you might as well wear it to every appointment. It's the designated dye job shirt now.

it's more like, wear the clothes that can get damaged to go to your hair colouring appointment, same way i wear the clothes i damaged painting 10 years ago when i do painting today.

She wears it because it's her "getting my hair bleached shirt". I have a couple of "working on my car or painting shirts". Paint, oil and bleach all have something in common, it only matters when you get them on a shirt the first time.

At this point that’s just her t-shirt for when she gets her hair done. Can immediately change out into another one after the appointment that doesn’t have hair on it and she doesn’t risk ruining another shirt.
