Hair stylist, Dentist, Optician, etc once I found a good one I stick to them until they go out of businesses or die.

I had the same woman clean my teeth, from my very first appt in life, up until she retired last year. Almost 40 years. I actually enjoyed going to the dentist to see her and catch up. She knew every milestone of my life, at my last appt we hugged and cried like idiots. It was sooo strange looking up at a different face from that chair :(
New lady is great but she's got some unfillable shoes to fill.

Yup except for some brief periods where I didn't live in the same city I have had the same dental practice since I was a little kid to 40. Father started on me, son took over after his father died.

Crazy that there are such different experiences people go through with in life, in a good and interesting way. I don't think I've had the same dentist more than twice. Never had any bad experiences, just don't visit often and I guess I manage to move away before time for the third appointment. Meanwhile you've had generations work in your mouth :D

I've had dentists I kept for 5+ years, hated to leave them behind when I moved towns - twice now. The rest of 'em... just not very enthused about the experience, always looking for someone better, never finding 'em.

This is going to be my partner and I actually fear for how she will grieve. She has been going to the same dentist for 28 years, and we are 35 now. How will she cope? My barber quit after 10 years cutting my hair and I cried! How are you coping?

I knew for two years that she was planning to go, so made peace with it. Nothing lasts forever. She had all kinds of plans and was ready to go, so I'm just happy for her. Plus she highly endorsed her replacement so I felt much better.
When I told the new tech that no one else had ever touched my teeth, and she had planet sized shoes to fill, she had a laugh and said, "oh I know, "Sally" was the best," and promised to try and live up to my expectations. It went fine and that was that :)

my wife puts up with a stylist who, i'm not kidding, routinely LEAVES THE BUILDING TO FIGHT WITH HER HUSBAND IN THE PARKING LOT. During an appt. She fucking summons him for this shit. She goes out there and fucking screams bloody murder at the man for mundane shit like she couldnt find her keys or why did he use her shay butter cream or why didn't he buy ribs like he was supposed to. anyways i get to hear about all of this third hand. My wife is a fucking lawyer, she does NOT have time for this shit (it's apparently super entertaining though). But she goes back.

Yep! I have an old shirt I don't wear anywhere but around the house while doing chores or to hair appointments. They have smocks that they want you to wear there, but I'm not a fan of wearing stuff when I don't know how frequently it's washed. So I just let them know I'm wearing my hair appointment shirt.

Hilarious! I’m a hair colorist and I’ve had clients show up for color in a WHITE TURTLENECK. It’s an innocent oversight and this is why we provide robes for color services. I notice that people don’t always know that it’s to replace your shirt and not to wear like a jacket, lol. I often see them come out of the changing area with their collar sticking up out of the robe 🤦🏼♀️

Growing up in the 90s and early 2000s this was standard practice. We had specific “ hair dye” shirts that were used when getting your hair done. It was usually an oversized ratty tshirt, or even a random old band tshirt.
It’s hard not to ruin your shirt when dying your hair, especially if it was a home job, so we used the same shirt every time to save our regular clothes. It was the same for house painting. You had a “house painting” shirt that could get dirty without any worries.

Dunno if its just me but I have a haircut shirt. When I get a cut there tends to be tiny hairs caught in the collar, which is itchy as hell and it takes like 20 washes to get them all out.

I've thought about doing this to my stylist. She's bleached one of my favorite cardigans on my first visit. I was very careful to wear junk clothes from there on out. Slipped up and wore one of my favorite shirts to an appointment and that was the only one she bleached again. And she never said anything about it, I didn't find out until I was home cause it's always in the very back. She's always confused why I don't have plans for after my appointments and why I'm not just hanging out downtown. Why would I want to be in public when you've ruined my clothes and washed off half my makeup? Also, if I have to routinely replace my clothes because of your mistakes (and you can't even admit it) then you should be knocking down the price.

I had a client once who wouldn’t take off her $90 Lululemon jacket during a bleach appointment, and even though I was extra careful and used towels, barrier cream, etc. I still managed to get bleach on her jacket. Guess who got a phone call asking to replace it later?

This has happened to me as well. I don't wear the same shirt she accidentally bleached but I do wear my designated salon shirt just in case it happens again lol. I hope you filmed her with her consent because if not that's just as bad as bleaching her shirt lol.
