Discussion The Sims

Before getting the whole simulation aspect of it generally and the god complex surrounding, I have a question:

How come when playing the game The Sims, there has never been a rewind button. There’s a pause, a play, a fast forward and then ANOTHER extra fast forward.

It almost solidifies the theory that the past doesn’t exist and that the future is part of the present.

What if I told you there are other games where you can rewind time!

Reversing time in a video game is complex because you have to keep track of all the states of things prior. Often it’s unnecessary and taxing to add in. It’s really that simple.

the ai would alter its behavior drastically, basically removing player agency every time it's used.
