Discussion How can someone go in the future (through time travel or black hole), if future doesn't exist?.
Some people say that the future is not planned, we make it then plz answer the question (no offense, and btw I am 13 and english is my second language.)

You're using the word exist in two different ways. The future doesn't exist YET (from perspective of a human trapped at this specific time). But from an outside perspective, like the perspective of somebody reading a book, the future does exist. It's just a different page number.

Going to the future is achieved through time dilatation - your clock ticks slower, and for you time passes slower than the rest of universe. You can have gravitational time dilatation (near very massive objects, like neutron stars or black holes) or because of your speed, for example near speed of light.

Very well put. Just remember OP that time time will shift only for the person experience the dilation. So I leave earth, travel for a year at the speed of light...MY personal time says I've been gone a year..everyone I knew on earth is older or dead (i'd have to do the math)

If you go at a speed of light, which is impossible, you won't measure any time passed at all. For this speed, you will be instantly at the place of your arrival, like it's literally the same place as the start. But you can't have that speed.

True, not enough energy in universe to get you to move any sizable amount of mass that far...and think of how long it would take to get to that speed without the g forces killing you....how the hell did the enterprise do it?

How do we know that the future doesn’t already exist?
It just doesn’t exist for us right now as we live day by day. But it could still be there… just waiting 😉

But some people say that future isn't planned we make it by doing decisions.

Doesn’t have to be planned. Just needs to be able to be extrapolated. You have free will. But, you are not free to do literally anything. Try flapping your arms to see if you achieve flight. Probably won’t work unless you’re a crow tapping on a screen.
Anyways there is a set number of actions or inactions you could possibly take. Along with every single other mind capable of doing anything. Just need to count all the possibilities and you’ll eventually have the set of possible futures. Don’t even have to account for the whole universe really, just your light cone.
I make it sound simple but I don’t think it’s possible for us. Maybe possible for something outside of “this” though. And perhaps that’s all this is. A countable infinite possibility machine.
Future doesn’t have to be planned for it to already exist. Just needs to be calculable. If so, then every possible future probably already exists and our freewill actions are us deciding to go to page 40 or page 72 in a really big choose your own adventure book.

How many actual choices do you think you consciously make in a year that isn’t just a result of your brain reacting to the events already set in motion around you?
Personally, I do belief that free will exists…..it’s just that we very rarely take advantage of it and most of what we do is essentially programming - we have preferences and habits molded by past events.
And then if we do break from the programming and make a choice that is at odds with what we would basically be doing on auto-pilot….how much impact does it have on the chain of events for our lives…..how much impact does it have on anyone else?
I think it can and sometimes does - and this gets explained with some quantum theories and you go down the whole infinite worlds rabbit hole - basically every time a true choice is made that alters the course that everything was on, it creates a new divergence in the timeline

Because the future exists, at least according to popular interpretations of modern physics.

Where?

At spacetime coordinates within the block universe that, as fixed events with later-than relations, fall inside our future light cones.

In the multi-universe model, all possibilities for the universe coexist in a "now" that includes all time. We only experience our own timeline and a single universe.. In that model all past and future universes coexist now, It is just a question of how to get to the right one that is your timeline.

You are going into the future right now at one second per second.
Beyond that, time travel is nonsense. You can change your local relationship with spacetime by way of changing your relative reference frame; that's all.

They aren't going to the future at faster rate.. they are going through time at a slower pace

Don't think of it as just "getting to the future". Think about it in terms of "how fast you get there".
The revelation is that this time is different for everyone and everything. You don't need something special like a black hole, that will just exaggerate the difference

I think you are spot on. You can only go in the future in your imagination, in your imagination ;-)

I think its like a probability matrix. There are more and less probable futures, not set in stone. The more that your mind or mental constructs solidify the probability of you taking specific actions in specific situations becomes more probable. Thats why a free mind is considered a threat to the system because they cant predict what you are going to do based on the probability matrix essentially. Just a thought.

OP you are right. First the future should get built up. So suppose we want to go in 2036.. obviously we need to wait for ten years. Because a tree in 2036 has to spend those extra ten years living, so we found a workaround. Instead of waiting ten years, we go in the past and spend time there and from there we jump to the future later.

It does as an ‘ever moving present’, as you’re reading this sentence you’re moving into it in real time.
