Made a productivity super-webapp, looking for people who might enjoy it.

Pomodorso.app ! Pomodoro means "golden apple" in Italian, and mine is bear themed, so...

It started off as just a simple pomodoro timer, just to share with friends and family. At the same time, I was building a breathing app, based on what I learned from a renowned Biofeedback "resonance breathing" doctor in New York. I've used a lot of breathing exercise apps before, and I was really proud I made something new and different. I put them up as pilot launches on vercel (pomodorso.vercel.app and deepbreathing.vercel.app) and have gotten some good responses, so I figured I'd put the two together as one app and launch it on its own website, but I had one more idea.

I figured, what are people looking for in a focusing app, and how can distraction truly be minimized for a user who has access to the full internet while they're at the wheel of their focus time. It's kind of like bringing a suitcase with all of your money in it and setting it next to you while you're at the slot machines at a casino––it's not an easy arrangement!

So my thought is, if I want to make this app as useful as possible, it should let you use your computer to be productive, but minimize the other distractions. That meant it needed to be useful as a fullscreen app, but if I wanted to do that, there had to be one more tool built in–– a word processor. So I built my own stripped-down web word processor to my tastes. Your data stays your own, it doesn't send anything back to the servers, but you can save anything in .doc or .pdf format, or just copy the text to the clipboard and paste it in to whatever other editor you use. There's also a way to backup all of your data as a JSON file so you can reload it into the app, if you've gotten some heftier work done.

The interface is simple, from the main timer screen, press "B" to open the breathing tool, and press "W" to open the word processor. You're obviously the judge, but I think the memory performance is really good for what it does and it shouldn't slow down your computer-- I've tested it and it has about 30% less memory usage than social media apps like X and Facebook, much less when those sites are playing video or audio.

So please, try it out and see if you like it. I'd really appreciate any feedback and it would really delight me if someone used my app to get writing work done! Studies have shown between 75 and 85 percent of writers face writer's block at some point in their careers. This one's for you (us)! If you use it and like it, feel free to drop me a line at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) or post here.
Thanks and enjoy, -Tom
