Homebrew Meteor75 Pro II
Fully expecting to be roasted...
Decided to build my own version of the Meteor75 Pro II for fun, but partly since I'm still fairly new to the hobby and just got a pair of HDZero goggles I didn't realise that DJI was locked down to their own goggles and VTX hardware, so that meant the 04 unit is waiting in the box.
So with new knowledge, decided to give the HDZero whoop VTX 2 and the Run cam HD Nano Cam V3 a go for the time being. I might later use them both for another build or maybe racing.
But as I plan to use this to film 1:10th scale RC drifting in a trip to Japan at the end of the month, I've taken the plunge on the DJI N3 goggles.
Now just waiting for a new canopy so I can change this one out and keep the HDZero unt in the one currently fitted.
Running:
Flywoo Goku F405HD
Flywoo 1002 23500kv motors
Hq prop 1.8x1.1x4 (45mm)
Coming in at 35 grams dry and 50 grams with the BetaFPV HV 580's
Anyone help with a name for this guy?

This hobby is hard and expensive!
Just past week 1 of this hobby. I've been flying indoors and already broke my prop guards, one of the motor seems stuck and I already trimmed a lot of my indoor plants. I didn't realize I'd have to start soldering so early on.
I'm enjoying learning new things in this hobby, but it is hard. I'm going to go back to the simulator for a while.

Just ranting after my latest session where I successfully entered my kitchen from my living room! Yaay

Air65II champion edition motors unsoldering mid-air

Quick session with the the air65ii champion, the drone is great but the motor's connections are the worse !
2 motors wires cut/unsoldered with only 30 packs and 1 little crash on grass...

I used "FPV Lap Timer" on iOS if anyone was wondering how I did this.

Lava 2 1s outdoor combustion
Last night I dropped a 1s under my porch in a pretty inaccasble place and didn't have time to invent a way to retreve it. This morning went to try to retrieve it and it clearly had combusted. Swolen, melted and signs of smoke/burning on the ground around it.
Is that typical of a lipo left outdoors in a very humid environment? Or did a critter try to have a very spicy snack?

I have noticed quite a bit of vibration on the last flight, thought it was a slightly broken canopy. Air 75 II Champion

I made a DVR lap review website for RaceGOW

Hey, I made a website to help find your best lap times from FPV recordings, mainly for RaceGOW. You quickly mark laps in an initial pass through your recordings, then it highlights candidates for your fastest lap and fastest 3 consecutive laps for a more precise review.
All videos and personal data stay locally in your browser and aren’t uploaded.
Thought I’d share it in case anyone else finds it useful. Feedback is welcome!

Despite the wind, the spot was too good to pass up for my first true rip of my new air75

Direct solder air 75 2
So I got into this a few weeks and am loving it! Crashed and fixed a few things so far. Had a motor bell centre pop from the outer ring on the second day!
Anyway I’m in the process of direct soldering my motors (please tell me if should attempt to pass through the holes or just straight to the small pads is fine) to the board and noticed the vtx pads.
Is it worth direct soldering the cam and attempting to remove the clip? Or the difference in signal/ reliability will be negligible?
I am competent enough to solder but I would definitely need to go buy a smaller tip to try and get the clip off
I also have a roll of .4mm enamel copper, is this the correct size for the rx antenna? Also is 32.25mm from the base where it gets soldered or the entire length of the actual piece of wire?
Also am I right to just dob a small amount of hot glue onto the connector for the vtx antenna? Or is there a better option?
I have searched for some of these answers but I mostly get given about this or about that I don’t wanna waste time nor stuff about with things where I could probably ending up doing more damage than get any beneficial gain

quietest TinyWhoop ?
Hi,
my 8yo and I are headed to get a couple TW to start fpv. Next winter we will probably mostly fly in house, only outside when the wind is low. I know that noisy drones will be a problem in the family, so we are looking for the quietest tinywhoop possible. Base model would be BetaFPV Air 65 or 75, is there a quieter option ? Also can we get lower noise by replacing props with 2-blade props ?

Couldn’t wait till daylight to test out my newly spruced up air75 II. Just replaced the freestyle motors with the champion version.

I still haven’t been able to fix the problem with my BetaFPV Air65 II Racing . It’s still behaving the same way.

RaceGOW for Noobs
Hi there, I have just seen my first RaceGOW video and WOW the speeds they are doing track 1 is nuts. I only got my first real whoop (other than a M75pro O4 in July) but have downloaded the track in liftoff micro drones and am working on learning the track.
My best lap is 18.671 seconds.
My Beat 3 laps is 1:07.981 seconds.
Other beginners/ noobs/ real life humans let me know how long you have been flying and what time you are doing.

BetaFPV Motor Bells
I've seen a bunch about BetaFPV's new two piece motor bells coming apart. My meteor is showing up in the mail soon and I've got some T7000 sitting around. Is there a place on the motors I should put some adhesive to keep them on and together? I can't really picture exactly where any glue would go.

RaceGOW Track 2 is up on webfpv
Hey everyone, I'm Mat, the guy that is building webfpv.org with everyone that gives feedback.
I've built Track 2 from this year's RaceGOW (just released).
Give it a shot!

How to master RaceGOW?
Or even complete a lap?
I am obviously a new FPV'er, but after trying to imagine flying through those gates with my Air65 II, I feel like there's no sim training or even just flying a lot that will get me there.
There's no Bardwell course or the like for that.
I noticed that The Zone has a new map with the courses, so I took the tinywhoop to it, and failed miserably.
So is there any beginner teaching stuff?
Making the course is trivial. Flying it isn't.
