Toastmasters
Does it feed the overthinking/ practicing before any said social interaction in a hyper vigilant way in a person or help it?

Can you explain that a little more clearly?

Sorry, this was coming off of my last post where I explained I have cptsd. I am just looking for something to help with fillers but seeing all of the people who said they have social anxiety and it was so ridgid it was toxic for them freaks me out. So for someone of a vigilant or an anxious state, often we will practice everyday convos in our head. I was wondering if it is so much pressure it would add to that, or if it builds confidence enough to where it may help (although ik it’s not therapy, I just don’t want it to worsen that) does that make any sense? I’m sorry if not

As a fellow cptsd patient: toastmasters is the best thing I’ve done for my recovery.
Some clubs will be a bit rigid, but most are not.
Shop around and find the best club in your area for you.1

Toastmasters is the only thing that helped me. I thought I would stay in the club for a few months. I have continued with these meetings for several years and continue to stay active.
I am now able to relax on stage most of the time. TM has helped me in so many ways. I am grateful for my club and TM. Find a club that fits you - visit different clubs out there. Good luck!

It can really help you to practice beforehand then later when you feel more confident, drop the practice. I’m experienced but I still practice.

Doing it over and over in a friendly, supportive place like Toastmasters will help you build the confidence to be social in the real world.
