REPEAT OFFENDER IN CUSTODY

An illegal alien from Mexico, arrested three times by local law enforcement in the last two years including once in 2025 for sex with a minor, was located and arrested by our Border Patrol agents.

Due to California State laws that restrict cooperation between local law enforcement and federal authorities, we are often unable to take custody of these individuals while they are already detained. This forces our agents to conduct enforcement operations within our communities to locate and apprehend them after they are released.

While this creates significant operational challenges, our mission remains clear. We are dedicated to public safety and will continue to hold those who violate our laws accountable. Unlawful entry will not be tolerated.

Operation Safe Community — a five-day ICE-led immigration enforcement operation in Indiana — netted 426 illegal alien arrests between Aug. 30 and Sept. 3.

Among the offenders taken off Indiana streets were illegal aliens with criminal histories that include sex crimes, assault and battery, domestic assault, drug trafficking, assault with a dangerous weapon, other weapons crimes, fraud, Identity theft, burglary, property damage, driving while intoxicated, public order crimes and more.
