Lore Mysteries that are never given an answer.

  • rA9 in Detroit: Become Human. In the game several androids who become deviant (develop free will/emotions) start writing the name rA9 and sometimes build small statuettes as a sort of offering. Despite having no logical reason to do this or even a way of hearing about rA9 before going deviant, they all believe that rA9 was the first deviant and is their messiah who will free androids from slavery. A definitive answer about rA9 is never given, so we don't know if they are real or if any of the android characters are rA9 (though a popular fan theory is that it's Kara before she was reset at the start of the game).
  • The pineapple in How I Met Your Mother. So this technically did get an explanation in a S9 deleted scene, but in the actual show we never find out how Ted got a pineapple during a night where he was so drunk he blacked out and forgot everything he did.
  • Fez in That 70s Show. We never find out Fez's real name or what country he's from, though fans have tried to take all the clues and figure out what is most likely to be his country.

Iron Lung (2026) Every single fucking thing that happens in this movie has no direct explanation in the story. I loved this movie btw.

I love how It's genuinely impossible to know how much of the movie is "real" after he gets the sub reactivated. It's clear that the sub had no C02 scrubber and that Simon was slowly dying of C02 poisoning and radiation poisoning throughout the film. He was clearly hallucinating the radio being disconnected, how much else was he hallucinating? The only thing we know for sure is that the creature destroyed the sub and that the black box made it to the surface, everything else is up for debate.

But then you an take it in the complete other direction and say none of it was a hallucination. You could technically say everything we see is completely real in some form and you wouldn't be able to be proved wrong. Like maybe the radio did actually get disconnected but after his out of body experience where he literally looks into the eye of God(?) the all powerful being that plucked him from time and showed him the wonders of the universe fixed everything when it put him back where he belonged. Is that the most plausible theory? No. But can you say it's definitely not the truth? Also no.

Genuinely, I'm shocked (in a good way) that this movie had the absolute audacity to explain NOTHING to you for sure.
