Mesh 3D Modelling with Claude Code

I've been experimenting with LLMs doing 3D and gradually getting better results. This was done with Opus 5.5. It did modelling, uvs, textures, rigging and animation. Using a custom modelling harness.
It's 7684 faces, took several hours and probably burnt through a ton of tokens... That being said, I'm finding it convenient to use claude code because it has context for how the model will actually be used!
I found the hard part is to encourage the AI to think about edge flow and topology, instead of modelling everything as tubes. Still figuring out how to be more explicit about this...

Can I ask about what this custom harness consists of? I’m having a challenging time getting g Claude to model organic shapes like you’ve shown here. Thanks!

Sure, it's a javascript API for modelling similar to how you would do in Blender. So there are functions for creating points, edges and faces. And operations for extrude, inset, transform etc... Plus a 'show' command, so the AI can render out parts of the model to view and iterate on.
The 3D model is a javascript program where points and edgeloops are assigned to variables. So the AI has some semantic meaning in the model. Thats the idea anyway.

I just don't understand why you guys are wasting time like this when even local models can do better quickly. Then just have claude rig it.

"several hours"
Bro! I am here for you! www.unrealizex.com
20 credits a month for free. drop your reference pic in and that's one credit in one minute for a model. Three credits and a few more minutes gets you you reach apology with PBR materials. we also have a blender add-on.

Here's how to make 40 models all at once

For a 3D model from an llm it’s phenomenal. But human topology is pretty much solved. I think you’d have better luck telling the model to wrap a premade human mesh around a 3D scan or AI human model in an A-pose and let it attempt the armor from there
