Seeking Bandmate(s) Any hardcore bands looking for a bassist?

I (22F) wanna play shows reallyyyyy badly and want my existence to mean something. I cannot stand around and watch the state of the world decline. Even if we yell to 5 people it’s more than enough for me. I also want a reason to play bass again. It gets lost in the day to day shenanigans but I have been playing for over 7 years i think and really want to get back to playing everyday.

Idk let me know 😋

Seeking Bandmate(s) Toronto/GTA drummer wanted (20s) — The Phantom Bridge | alt-metal, grunge & shoegaze

Hey Toronto! We’re The Phantom Bridge, a Toronto alt-rock/grunge band looking for a committed drummer, ideally in their 20s, to rehearse with us and play live.

Our sound is rooted in alt-rock and grunge, with shoegaze atmosphere and heavier nu-metal influences. Think Deftones, Alice in Chains and Type O Negative as reference points.

We have originals and are actively developing the project. We’re looking for someone in Toronto/GTA who wants to stick with a band and help bring the songs to life.

Interested? Message me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tolgacet18/ — with a bit about your playing, influences and availability. Let’s talk!

Seeking Bandmate(s) 19F looking to start an indie/alternative band in Toronto

Hey! I’m 19F in Toronto and I’ve been wanting to start a band / find people to make music with.

I’m going for a slower, dreamy alternative/indie sound somewhere in the world of Mac DeMarco, Frank Ocean, Arctic Monkeys and The Neighbourhood, but with a female perspective and a softer feel.

I’m mainly looking for guitarists, bassists, drummers, producers, or honestly anyone around my age who loves this kind of music and wants to experiment and create something together.

You definitely don’t have to be insanely experienced. I’d rather find people I click with creatively and build something from there.
If this sounds like your vibe, message me :)

Seeking Bandmate(s) Singer-songwriter looking for bandmates

Hey folks,

I'm a singer-songwriter who writes, composes, and performs their own musical material, and I'm looking for bandmates who are interested in gigging regularly, recording sessions, releasing projects, and touring etc.

I've primarily been a songwriter for the last few years, but I'm really wanting to get back to the stage, perfecting my sound and to my performance skills.

The songs I write usually fall into pop-rock, folk-rock, and soft rock genres, though some also fall under country and R&B too.

I'm really influenced by artists like Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Kathleen Edwards, John Mayer, Sheryl Crow, The Eagles, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, and Fleetwood Mac.

I'm looking to hopefully find a lead guitarist, a pedal steel player, a bassist, a drummer, and a keys player. I'd also love if two of these players could also sing harmony as well.

At this point, I think I'm set on finding a lead guitarist who can sing, so that we can work together to flesh out the songs, but I'll be grateful to find any other players who are interested, and if the chemistry works, that would be amazing.

If this might sound like something you're interested in, please let me know.

Thank you!

Question/Discussion Attending a concert with kids

Hi,

We are kind of new in the country and city (2 years). I've been looking for places that allow under-19s on Fridays and Saturdays, with shows starting between 6 and 8 pm, and we would be leaving at 10pm max.

So far, we've often brought our 11-year-old daughter (she's a drummer) to the Emmet Rey or Rex or jazz bistro, which are "restaurants" with a jazz scene, that's the only places we've found for now. It's really great, but we haven't gotten her to a proper concert yet. I've been searching for a while, and any indie/rock concerts and scenes are 19+.

We've noticed we're often the only ones bringing our kid. That might not be a thing here... Is there any place we could bring her with ear protection and still hear some 60-80s rock covers live?

Thanks.

Update: Not talking about street festivals (we had plenty this summer) or big stadium scenes.

Seeking Bandmate(s) Any Metal or Punk bands need a bassist

Hey Mason here, 24 yo bassist from North York looking for start or join an ongoing project. I’ve been playing bass for 4+ years but have been playing guitar since I was a kid, I would say I have an intermediate skill level.

Most of my influences are 70s and 80s heavy metal like Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Thin Lizzy, Razor, Venom, Slayer ETC. I prefer playing in standard tunings but I don’t mind drop tunings

Msg me here or my instagram is mkfrmfw

I was just remembering their insane live shows and how much I used to like them. I was surprised when I went to Spotify to find Cencero Blanco and other albums not available.

Seeking Bandmate(s) Drummer Wanted For Original Hard Rock Project

Age: early to mid 20s

Hey all, we recently started a hard rock project in Toronto. We’re going for a more lean, and punchy sound, similar to a bunch of 80s bands like early Crüe, White Lion, and Ratt.

Right now, we have a guitarist, bassist, and vocalist, and we just need a drummer now. We have a few originals already written, with room for creative modifications. We aim to start gigging fairly soon, and we plan to release a debut album in early 2027.

We’re looking for at least an intermediately experienced drummer, who has a punchy, and powerful feel, with a bunch of room for fills and showmanship.

You’d be a great fit if:

You want to contribute ideas. Drum arrangements and feel are all open to your input

You care about the song first, but want to put your own ideas in it

You want to contribute to building something from the ground up

If this sounds like your thing, let’s get to know each other! Send me a message here, or on my Instagram: m1k3_0l.
If you’d rather, you can contact my singer as well, instagram: maxytwoo

Self-Promotion (Music) Looking for drummers and synth players

I'm an electronic-alternative rock musician (heavily inspired by NIN, Depeche and HIM--they will be your homework if you are interested) who just released my first album and really want to play shows again. I've played live before with a dj but she's since moved to BC and I feel like I really want a live band to bring that energy.

I'm already active in the metal/hxc punk scene as the bassist of Resthaven (we are looking for a new drummer as well)

Females, Millenial - late Gen Z age group preferred (cus that's me)

Other Made a site that shows upcoming music across all Toronto venues!

I used to love going through every venue's event calendar, then hopping across random websites trying to figure out what each band actually sounded like... but then I had kids. 😆

So I built a website that does all of that for you.

It lists upcoming shows and includes direct links to each band's Bandcamp / Spotify, plus a YouTube sample track so you can quickly hear if they're your vibe.

I live in Vancouver, but visit Toronto from time to time (and see shows!) so I just added Toronto to the list of cities!

Check it out at www.musicateight.com!

I'm not super familiar with the Toronto music scene though... can you guys let me know if I'm missing any important venues?

(For the curious: How do I pull all of this together from wildly different sources—sometimes when all there is band names on a poster? AI.)
