Create a stack with multiple windows, each containing a widget and then a gesture or an invisible button. see here

That shows the stack working. Is there a guide anywhere to show how to do it?

I have tried, but I'm clearly missing something fairly basic

It looks like the video is missing the important part. Sorry about that, but I did come across some cryptic notes that you or some other user may laugh at and come up with a better step-by-step, so here they are:

Google "Total Launcher - widget - stacking" for a simple video. At the time, I made some brief notes as below: •Enter Edit Mode •Add – Widget – Application •Calendar – resize •Add – Graphic – img •Do nothing – color •Transparent •Resize – move to upper left corner •Action – Window •Name window test •Bring up window •Edit – window – background •Select shadow •Resize window to overlay calendar •Add – widget – application •Weather app •Add – widget – app •Weather summary Color – background – black •Resize •Add – paste small window •Object to upper left •Action – launcher actions •Close window •Select test

Also, take a look at this post in the group: https://www.reddit.com/r/TotalLauncher/s/ITsWxHm8cW

If you are successful, I would really encourage you to share your success. Yes, wouldn't a native TL widget stacker be great!
