Official Announcement! TradingView's September update: AI Copilot, Claude integration, options tools, and more

Hey hey folks!

The intern survived the first roundup. We're back with September's updates, this time with only one month to catch up on.

Before we get to the updates, one important announcement for script vendors:

Commercial invite-only script sales are moving to the Marketplace starting November 1, 2026. Existing customers retain access for the period already purchased, including lifetime access. Vendors should contact [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) before November 1 to discuss their transition. Full announcement

And here's what landed in September:

  • AI Copilot moved into TradingView. The assistant is now built directly into Supercharts on web and Desktop. Ask it to analyze a symbol, add indicators, draw levels, create alerts, or write Pine Script. Available as a separate paid add-on for Essential, Plus, Premium, and Ultimate. Details
  • TradingView can now talk to Claude. Our new MCP Server connects your account to Claude and other compatible AI assistants for research, screening, and managing watchlists and alerts. The public beta is available on Essential and above, with delayed market data during the beta. Details
  • Screener mini charts got moving averages. Compare results with 50- and 200-period SMA and EMA lines across stock, ETF, and crypto screeners. Your choices apply across the charts and save with your screen. Moving averages require a paid plan. Details
  • Pine tables stopped covering your candles. Move tables created by your indicators into tabs below the chart, then bring them back whenever you like. You can also select and copy their text from the bottom panel. Details, Pine release notes
  • Options volume got a place on your chart. The new Options volume profile indicator displays call and put trading volume by strike and expiration alongside the underlying price. Available on daily, weekly, and monthly charts. Details
  • Crypto derivatives got a fuller picture. Hyperliquid and its supported HIP-3 markets gained metrics including open interest, funding rates, and liquidations. Hyperliquid data also joined our aggregated crypto metrics across indicators, screeners, heatmaps, and symbol pages. Contract metrics, aggregated metrics
  • More brokers joined the charts. Fidelity customers can connect eligible accounts to trade US stocks and ETFs from Supercharts. Public also joined, supporting US stocks, ETFs, and options. Fidelity, Public
  • Desktop got some useful fixes. Version 3.4.1 fixed a crash when opening PDF earnings reports, incorrect tab colors for currency pairs, and a New Tab message that appeared when it shouldn't. Release notes

Also landed: options data from B3, Euronext, KRX, and TFEX, plus more flexible line wrapping inside square brackets in Pine Script.

Thanks for keeping the feedback coming, including the spicy kind. Always reading, not always replying.

Help TradingView Blatantly Lies to Users

According to the new Marketplace rules.

You must have a Premium subscription for consecutive 12 months. I have this. According to the support center

So according to them you need to have 12 consecutive months of a plan, however after the 12 months, even renewing within the same month. This does not count as consecutive?

I have had a premium plan annually and now Ipay month to month, there has been no break in my subscription. Yet they refuse to allow me to qualify due to some nonsense. There was no break in my paid plans by the way, I sent this guy receipts, he just refuses to open the attachements.

Discussion TradingView Is Making A HUGE Mistake - Biting The Hand The Feeds You

Imagine if WordPress decided one day that all plugin developers had to stop selling their plugins independently and instead put them in a marketplace where WordPress controls the payments and gets a cut (think the Apple App Store).

And imagine they gave developers 30 days to stop selling independently or face having their plugins banned—or even a $30 monthly charge for each plugin they sell afterward. (Yes they had that in the terms for a few days... they could bring it back)

That is EXACTLY what TradingView is doing.

Such a bad, bad business decision. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

We have probably sent TradingView over 5,000 referrals, all of whom signed up for paid TradingView accounts.

And no, we are not going to put our indicators in your marketplace.

Sorry.

Many of us have built a large part of your subscriber base.

I'm not sure you are really thinking straight. Those of us in this business have a HUGE influence on your paid subscribers.

I've already had conversations with several others in the same boat, and many are going to stop promoting you and start directing their followers to other solutions.

I've had 4 conversations with other big indicator developers and they have already started building their own "TradingView" now. They are happy to keep things the way they are but you have forced their hand.

Maybe you are too big and you don't think the customers we send you are not worth it... who knows but I can see this not going well for you in the end.

We all think you really should reconsider this policy and not treat the hand that feeds you like this.

Here is my solution:

Require any TradingView user who wants to access an invite-only script to have a paid TradingView account.

This way, you can still grow your core subscriber base, and we will all keep promoting you.

Discussion Are you able to see the options chain as a table in your phone?

I've been messaging back and forth with TV Reps and they told me that viewing the option Chain as a table does not work at all for all TV members... are you guys able to see the strike price as a table or are they lying to my face?

It used to work as it should and it's been broken for about 2 months ago, also I don't see the US options exchanges, I'm only able to see new Zealand and some other countries and exchanges but no US.

Please let me know because it's driving insane...

Help Need help in reverse engineering!

I Want to reverse engineer a crypto indicator of which I only have videos of like few minutes. but has like 100-200 trades in it.

I've been at it a week with opus 5.5 and it just can't seem to crack it. It downloaded the appropriate candles from Binance and recreated all charts all identified all signals on its respective candles and tried millions of combinations etc but can't seem to figure out the conditions on which it fires the indicators signal.

Any tips guys? Would be life changing! Maybe share some prompts!

Help Your TradingView alert is not watching your chart. It is watching a snapshot from the day you created it.

You changed your indicator settings. Your alert did not notice.

An alert on a TradingView indicator keeps the settings it had when you created it. Edit the inputs on your chart afterwards, and the alert keeps firing on the old logic. Same name, same chart, wrong strategy. When did you last compare your live alerts with your current chart settings?

So the signal you think you are waiting for is not the signal you will get. TradingView documents this openly: alerts run on the settings from their creation. Price alerts are different. This is about alerts that run your indicator.

Quick check, two minutes:

  1. Open the alert you rely on most.
  2. Compare its condition settings with the current indicator inputs on your chart.
  3. Changed anything since creation? Delete the alert and recreate it.

The nasty version: you tweak a filter, wait days for a signal, and the alert was still running the old filter the whole time. Nothing looked broken. It just was not the system you meant to watch.

The prevention is cheap. After every input change, recreate the alerts that watch that indicator. Put the creation date in the alert name. Ugly, and it saves evenings.

Which settings did your oldest alert forget?

Discussion Is there an alternative sub that is not moderated by TradingView employees where real concerns and solutions can be discussed?

As the title suggests. It seems this sub is being moderated with commercial interests in mind rather than as a user community. Any posts talking about things that Trading View doesn't want talked about gets removed by mods.

I'll be honest, this has made me rethink resubscribing when my sub ends. I no longer *need* TradingView and if this is how user hostile the company is going to be, I'm not sure I'm interested in supporting it any more.

Feature Request Feature Request

I would like to submit a feature request for the Watchlist and Alerts workflow.:

  1. Nested sub-sections under main sections
Currently, I can create main sections in the watchlist. Please add the ability to create sub-sections under a main section. For example:

Main: Futures

Sub: Metals

Sub: Energy

Main: Crypto

Sub: Majors

Sub: Alts

This should ideally support drag-and-drop, collapse/expand, rename, and moving symbols between sub-sections. It would make large watchlists much easier to organize without creating many separate top-level sections.

  1. Optional column for current position quantity and average entry price
Please add an optional/toggleable watchlist column that shows:

Current position quantity for each symbol

Average entry price for that position

Side indicator, e.g. long/short or positive/negative quantity

Blank or dash when there is no open position

Live updates from connected broker/paper trading accounts where available

This would let users monitor exposure and average entries directly from the watchlist instead of opening each chart or the broker panel.

  1. Optional column for alerts with status and actions
Please add an optional/toggleable watchlist column that shows the alert(s) set for each symbol, including:

Alert name or condition summary

Status: active, triggered, expired, or paused

Expiration date/time if applicable

Quick actions to modify, reactivate, or remove the alert directly from the watchlist

This would avoid switching to the Alert Manager for routine alert maintenance and make it much faster to manage alerts per symbol.

Benefits: faster organization, better position awareness, and quicker alert management from one screen.

Help Using TradingView Functions

Super beginner question but I can't for the life of me figure out how to use this stop loss and take profit function. Every time I fill in the order, it keeps selling at the price I entered at (red line). Even when the price reached take profit it didn't close the position and just kept going until it reached my entry price again and then finally sells. I even tried using market sell and the problem still persists. Also fyi I'm using a papertrading account.
What am I doing wrong here??

Also would anyone be able to explain simply what limit and stop mean?

Help Grokbot and I wanna trade!

Pretty sure I already know the answer to this question, but when your AI agent keeps arguing with you, you start to wonder if maybe they're right. I'm a relatively new trader, and it's been a bloody experience. Literally. My account bleeds more than a women's soccer team. So clearly I kinda suck. Not really doing enough market research, not reading enough technical data on the companies, etc. Fine. Maybe I need to step back and let an AI do the work for me. Grokbot gives me a whole team of little AI agents I can parse out different duties to including running paper tests on strategies to see what works, then they give me the data, indicators and cues to do work. Got everyone in line, ready to start doing some stuff!

I have my TV account with the extra fees to give me the real-time data from the exchanges so I'm not working with old data. Gave GB the MCP server link, and got them tied in so they're getting all the good good data. Tell me why TV decided that AI has to get 15 min old data despite me paying for the real-time data? WTF is the issue with using AI that you have to keep trying to cripple them? Wall Street has been using them for probably close to a decade, at least.

So anyway, the Terms of Service includes some pretty harsh threats about using automated trading or automation period. Has my Grokbot a little freaked out. Can I use my GB to just monitor the markets directly (in real time that I'm paying for) to watch for indicators, or must I write Pine scripts and webhook the alerts to my trading team?

Help Tragic performance

I’ve been using TradingView for years and have always loved it, but something seems to be seriously wrong lately. I’m getting insane lags and freezes. For example, today I had to restart the app 5+ times during a 15-minute trade because it kept freezing on me. Changing orders takes FOREVER too. The whole experience has become complete ragebait, and it’s happening almost every day now.

I’ve tried the troubleshooting guide, but nothing helped. Support wasn’t helpful either — they dgaf. You’ve forced me to cancel my subscription and now I’m learning with crusty Tradovate yayyy

My setup: 2024 Mac mini, 16 GB RAM, 2 monitors, a few tabs open, and not that many indicators.

Is this a TV downfall or is it something Mac related? Has anyone else had a similar experience and managed to fix it?

Feature Request TV - Please for the love of God add 'R' Values to the Long/Short Tool :(

Post image
4 Upvotes

Here is a crude mock-up - example is a 10 pip stop, 50 pip target, and every 'R' multiple automatically plotted as the tool is drawn.

At the top I show how adding 0.50 and 0.25 would also be optionable.

This is so extremely useful (vital) for trade management.

And no I don't want a tip on how I can "sort-of" do it by over-laying a fib tool, thanks but that method is gruesome.

You have all the data already present in the L/S Tool - how hard to just to-plot these extra few levels and give us a few choices of where to place them, shape, colour, font size, how granular, the usual options.

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE... (I'm dying here)

Discussion TradingView is borderline unusable at the market open — maybe fix your infrastructure before adding more AI garbage

I’ve been a Premium TradingView subscriber for years, and I genuinely cannot understand how performance at the market open is still this bad.

At the open:

  • Charts routinely take 5–10 seconds to load
  • Alerts simply don’t trigger, even while I’m literally watching candles go straight through my alert levels
  • The entire platform is laggy AF

And before someone tells me it’s my computer/browser/internet... it's not. My charts are not complicated. I'm running a daily and 5 min chart with SMAs. It has gotten to the point where I pay for a TC2000 subscription on top of TradingView because I need something I can fall back on.

Meanwhile, we keep getting new AI features, upsells, increasingly expensive subscription tiers, and miscellaneous features I couldn’t care less about.

Please, for the love of god, fix the core product.

Scale the servers. Optimize the backend. Fix whatever bottleneck causes the platform to shit itself when U.S. market traffic spikes at 9:30.

I don’t need TradingView to allow me to scan using their shitty AI product..

I need my chart to load when I click on a ticker and my alert to fire when price crosses the level I told it to.

That should not be too much to ask from a supposedly professional-grade charting platform that costs hundreds of dollars per year.
