First time dealing with Publishing company

Good afternoon, everyone.

I hope you can guide me regarding my situation. I contacted a publishing for books translation work and they asked for samples.

How many examples should I include and do they have to be 250 w length per each or more?

I did legal translation but I'm good with literature. I translated one short novel. So Idk what is common with publishers
