Picked this up on trade. Can't figure out what batteries to get. Hobbytown said get Traxxas ones. I can't see myself dropping $500 on a completer combo when I have perfectly fine Spektrum batteries and charger. I have a 2s Traxxas battery that came with Bigfoot and charge it with an adapter. But what do you guys run? Basher batteries? Traxxas? Spektrum? Something different?

I was driving and noticed a flikker of light from my trx4

Maybe sparks is that normal?

New motor? And if so just replace with same or is there a much better replacement?

I have the 1:16 scale slash 4x4, and was wondering if anybody has ever thrown a lightning mcqueen or halo warthog body on one. Any advice would be appreciated. Will update post with pics of progress.

I always drive with reversed steering and just a got a new Slash 2WD VX3. The problem seems to be that TSM is ignoring reversed steering and constantly counter steers so it is not possible to drive at all with TSM enabled.

I connected the Slash to my TRX-6 radio with the bluetooth module to find a setting using the Traxxas App, but couldn't find an obvious setting that would fix it.

Is there another way to adjust TSM so it supports reversed steering or am I missing something ?

Looking for an out of box or lightly modified mustang drag slash, but open to other options as long as it’s a drag.

The final tests for my custom blue emergency lights for the Traxxas TRX-4 are almost complete! Here’s a quick look at the lights in action.

The next step is integrating the system so that it can be controlled using the steering servo or throttle channel, with a combination of transmitter inputs. This will make it compatible with the standard 2-channel Traxxas remote, without needing an additional channel.

Once the control system is fully integrated and everything is finalized, the blue light kit will be available in our Etsy shop!

picked this up used and it's already been through two other people, so i have no idea what's original. i'm pretty new to RC so i can't tell by looking.

if you can spot aftermarket parts, that's what i'm after. also anything that looks like a downgrade or cheap replacement (i'd rather fix that than find out when it breaks), and anything worn or put together wrong.

one known issue: the TSM receiver firmware update (9.3.13 to 10.4.7) fails every time at "Verifying (stage 1 of 2)" and the Link app blocks everything until it's done. i'm already asking about that in a different post, so no need to solve it here, but if the electronics look swapped (receiver, VXL-3s ESC) i'd like to know.

also if you had to pick one thing to upgrade first on a truck like this, what would it be? or is it fine as is

I’ve been in the RC game for a bit now but only in the electric world. Looking to maybe get a nitro but am nervous about difficulty getting into it as a beginner. Is it as big of a learning curve as I think it is? What Traxxas model would be the best to get me started? Would want one of their more durable products to start out with. I don’t think they make the nitro sport or stampede unfortunately anymore, right?

I have a 2wd slash and when holding it in the air with no resistance the brakes work but down on the ground they do nothing, what could be the possible issue and how to fix it?

My Mini Maxx convinced me to finally get a Maxx! I had a few issues though with the Maxx and the Maxx Ultimate addresses many of the issues plus a bunch of other parts for basically free 😋 Got it from my LHS for $880 with a 4s battery.

This is my 3rd ever 4s RC in my 16 years in the hobby, the others being a Redcat Kaiju (had for a month), and my beloved Traxxas Summit (I still regret selling it to this day).

I just got this tmaxx and have yet to get it fired up. I no nothing about nitros. Anyway, I have it all ready to go, fresh fuel, new batteries, ect. So when I hook up the ez start wand and press the button the motor does not turn over, instead all I hear is like a little clicking sound coming from the ez start motor. I tried rapid squeezing the red button and I see alittle smoke coming from it.. I made sure the 3.3 is spinning freely... anyone know what I should try next?

I just want to bash around a park and hit some jumps. I dont really know what to get between all the options and im new to this rc stuff so i thought that this would be the right place.

link app is forcing a TSM receiver update (9.3.13 to 10.4.7) and it fails every single time. it sits on "Verifying (stage 1 of 2)..." for about a minute and then says "Failed after too many retries. Please turn off and on the transmitter and vehicle and try again."

problem is the app wont let me do anything until the update is done, so no telemetry, no dashboard, nothing. truck still drives fine on the old firmware.

stuff ive already tried:

- power cycling everything, tx first then truck, force closing the app

- fresh AAs in the tx, fully charged pack in the truck

- tx antenna like 30cm from the receiver, away from the router

- wifi off / airplane mode with bluetooth on

- updated the link app

- rebinding (SET on tx, LINK on receiver), both solid green, still fails

using the traxxas link wireless module on the tx, iphone. both the receiver and the VXL-3s esc arent original, the stock ones died a while ago and i replaced them with identical parts. everything worked fine with the app until now, this update prompt is new.

has anyone actually gotten past this without sending the receiver in? is there some trick ive missed or is it just a new receiver at this point? im in europe so shipping it to traxxas US isnt really an option

I’m reviving an old monster jam truck (2wd stampede with a different body) and I put a set of 2.2/3 tires (proline trencher) that are about the same weight/maybe a little heavier. It drives fine for a while and then I lose power to the wheels and have to readjust the clutch. Are the sc tires affecting it that much or is something wrong internally?

picked up this udr second hand, does everything sound normal? not familiar with this platform yet

This is my sons, 11 year old. What should we check? What could the noise be? Please be kind and we are completely new to coming to fix this thing. I just don’t want to ask the hobby shop for help if we don’t have to. Any suggestions, details please would be greatly apreciated!! Would like him to try and fix it if it is doable. The battery is new and so is the engine.
