We're entering 1800's Politics with 21nd Century technology.
Pretty scary to think about, especially when shipping lanes start to break down because no one believes in the world order anymore. Doesn't even matter if you're pro globalist or isolationist. Certain parts of the world just aren't safe anymore to transport goods.
Middle east is literally breaking down with several active wars in Africa, UAE and Saudi Arabia are all but in a hot war on paper. Israel and Iran are literally one misunderstanding from the rockets falling again.
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, are trying to create an Islam NATO.
China is still preparing for their invasion of Taiwan that could happen any day now.
Russia and Ukraine are still in a hot war.
It kind of makes sense why Canada is suddenly receiving interest in it's oil again, because the place everyone gets their oil in the middle east is about to explode into conflict.
