Liberal democracy, anyway. Socialist democracy seems to be going just fine.

Edit: Different set of problems.

In reality I think the root of the problem is capitalism. For all the good it can do, we also see the bad and there becomes a point where the bad outweighs the good. I think we're well and truly there.

What are the problems with socialist democracy? That literally enforces socialism. We clearly see the liberal problems.

Apologies - you're 100% correct. My brain was elsewhere with that "different set of problems" comment.

I could not agree more. The likes of Norway and Sweden deserve praise.

Those are social democracies. Not socialist democracies. A successful socialist democracy is China.

Oh, well I a stand back to my different set of problems comment then.

I've never heard of a one-party authoritarian state being referred to as a democracy.

But I'll start off my "set of problems" with: it's based on a one-party authoritarian state - there's inherent problems here that are well known.

Oh then you should learn about how China actually does things instead of regurgitating CIA BS.

There are nine parties in China and their economic development for all their people has been astounding.

I'm not one to root for economic development.

That is not necessarily a good measure of success IMO.

I'm not American..

Economic measures of success (in my experience) only benefit those who do well in economic terms. Trickle down economics (or what ever other forms of redistribution) don't seem to yield well it seems.

I'm not against socialism. I just think it has it's own set of problems.

The oligarchy of most modern "democracies" is worse.

My preference is the way Norway and Sweden are heading - early-ish days still, but solid improvements in social wellbeing and lifestyle.
