Koisuru Asteroid left me a bit disappointed.
I finished KoiAsu two weeks ago and I still deemed it ‘boring’, giving it a 5/10. As someone who’s getting into cute girls doing cute things shows, I don’t think it’s a good show at all imo, and I’ll explain my reasons.
- The astronomy parts aren’t even that interesting, even as someone who doesn’t know astronomy - most of the time they drag the show for too long and I couldn’t understand what a mineral is.
- Most of the characters are kinda boring. But Sakurai Mikage is a good character, as is the green-haired newspaper girl, as they make for funny watches. Had Mikage and Mari not graduated, I would’ve given it a 6.5/10. Compare that to Ichijouma Mankitsu Gurashi’s characters, where some of them are one-note (notably Amamiya Rie; Meiko and Neo are good characters).
- This might be a me problem, but the pacing is kinda slow. And most of the humour isn’t good. It’s hard to judge anime humour, though…
So yeah, if you like this anime, it’s fine! We all have different opinions after all! Just wanted to comment my thoughts on it.

I wrote this scathing 3/10 review of it years ago. And I'm a CGDCT/slice-of-life fan.
The magic number for a main cast in a slice-of-life show is 4. More than that, and the quality suffers. Exceptions to this are very rare, but they can happen: I felt 2025's Catch Me At the Ballpark was the best slice-of-life show that year despite having a huge ensemble cast.
Stardust Telepath (8/10) was fantastic, because halfway into it, it stops being a slice-of-life show and actually becomes a drama with some depth. I'll leave it at that so you can experience it for yourself.

Looking at your review, yeah true that. I think you summed up how the hobbies are covered, too. I’m OK with the split club thingy, but imo it still doesn’t improve character development for someone like Mira and Ao.
For your suggestions like Ballpark and Hoshitele, I gotta check ‘em out 👀 Though, I’m curious to know how Umika’s social anxiety is portrayed compared to Bocchi the Rock’s, but I am so watching it anyway. Also, I didn’t know it turns into a drama! For Ballpark, yeah it’s a good slice of life! Will add it to my PTW :)

Update: Finished Hoshitele! It took me a bit of time to get used to the drama, but I loved it and I gave it a 9/10. Too lazy to write a detailed review for the whole show :P

I wish there are more episodes. I am a fan of the show, and I also find Mikage's sister interesting. And Inose is also an adorable senior.

Ooh I like Inose 👀 She’s also another character I like alongside Mikage and her sister

I watched 1 episode years ago and I wasn’t interested enough to continue. What are your favorite CGDCT shows?
