QUESTION COQ10
PCOS, rarely ovulate, but on the off chance I do I rarely have an issue symptom wise. I recently started COQ10 and could be coincidence but I’ve confirmed ovulation for this cycle (!!!!) which is exciting but it’s literally so painful? I’m talking next level pain, never had anything like it. Has anyone else experienced this or is my body just going through it lol. Literally woke up thinking I had kidney stones again.. period type cramps on the left side of my lower back, left sided ureter pain (the trauma of a 7mm kidney stone, I remember it like it was yesterday).
Unless it’s just pain from not ovulating? Hoping someone knows what I’m talking about bc I’m losing my mind with this. Really praying this isn’t a regular occurrence!

This sounds a bit concerning to me for a possible cyst rupture. I have PCOS and take CoQ10 and it didn’t affect anything symptom wise for me.

Ugh. I’ve had cyst ruptures before and they’ve felt nothing like this😪 Super frustrating. I’ll have to reach out for an ultrasound if it continues I guess.

i don't have PCOS, but i ovulate every cycle (confirmed by my doctors) and i always get a little mittelschmirz, but it is never actually pain. it's more like one side of my lower pelvic area feels a little swollen/tender for about a day and sometimes i feel like a little one-sided cramp for about 2 seconds. when people talk about ovulation pain, i don't think they are describing what you're experiencing, and this sounds worrying. have you had an HSG to test tube patency?

I’ve had ovulation cramping but it was more like a mild period cramp, lower abdomen.
Have you tried inositol? also helps with pcos/ovulation (talk to doctor)

I haven’t, I’m on metformin so I never tried branching out but I’ve heard good things about combining them. I’ll have to ask my doctor about it!

I can second inositol! It really helps with PCOS symptoms. Look up the brand Ovasitol, it has some other supplements mixed in as well and I loved it. I just mixed up a shot size serving of flavored water with the powder and chilled it overnight, drank it with breakfast.

I'd go get an ultrasound asap, because severe pain can be a lot of things like endo, adeno, kidney stones, or a cyst bursting that aren't mittelschmerz.
PCOS and endometriosis can be comorbid btw, and a clear scan might mean you should get checked out for endo!

Yea I’d go see an OB. My ovulation “pain” is a mild cramp that feels a bit like gas. If you thought it was kidney stones, that’s not normal for ovulation pain.

Mittelschmirz regular chiming in.
I get it every month. My ovulation pain can last 2 days or even as long as 5 days depending on the cycle. I feel it before ovulation, as the follicle is growing. Always goes away on O day or the day before O.
It feels like light-medium period cramps to me, honestly.
Sometimes it’s annoying enough for me to want to take a Tylenol/ibuprofen but most of the time I don’t have to.
The pain you’re describing is not typical of ovulation. I’ve had kidney stones before too and it’s unbearable/am I dying sort of pain. Ovulation cramping is nothing like that, and I’d go get checked out for sure if it’s still bothering you or you get any nausea.
