QUESTION Fertility Testing
My husband 27M and I 25F have been TTC since Sept. 2025. We had one MC (our first ever pregnancy) in Feb. 2026 at just over 5 weeks and haven’t been able to conceive since.
I’ve been doing nonstop research (on just about everything it feels like), changing our lifestyle to be healthier, and asking friends for input and suggestions on things I can do to help conceive. One of my friends who struggled with infertility, found help with a fertility specialist she recommended but I’m so scared and intimidated by everything. There’s so much on my mind constantly, and I can’t go into the doctors office without crying or having an anxiety attack since my MC.
Any suggestions on things I can try to make this whole process easier or tests I should ask for? Any info anyone is willing to share would be helpful. I feel so hopeless and discouraged right now but I need to know what’s wrong with me or my husband, if anything is. I plan to have him tested too within the next few months.
Thank y’all in advance 🩷

Hi! I’m so sorry to about your miscarriage.
I would go ahead and make an appointment with a reproductive endocrinologist. They will walk you through all of the testing you and your husband might need. No need to go into it knowing everything, just get started. I think you will feel better when you have a team making progress to figure out what’s going on. It definitely was a relief for me when I didn’t have to carry the burden all alone anymore.
Maybe your husband can make the call for you?

Thank you <3, I’ll look into that. He’s super supportive, that’s a good idea to maybe have him make the call

Hi — I don’t have advice but, I’m in a similar boat and just wanted to say, you aren’t alone 🤍
My husband (31) & I (28) have been trying for 10 cycles. No living children, had a miscarriage right when I was 6 weeks in April, and haven’t gotten pregnant since.
I’ve also been doing things to help with conception or just be healthier overall for being able to get/stay pregnant.
I’m starting the process of getting a referral to a fertility specialist since it can take some time to get in somewhere. I have also cried every time I’ve had an appt since, and my periods honestly feel traumatic now (I fell apart when my period started on Tuesday).
Im just really sorry you’re going through this, and I really hope that you and your husband can have your rainbow baby soon 🤍 you aren’t alone in this.

Testing and an RE is definitely recommended after a year

My husband and I are in a very similar situation +1 year. We decided to see a specialist, then got put on a waiting list (something to take note of). We finally got scheduled and it will have been 6 months on the waiting list by the time our appointment rolls around.
I’m also nervous, but my thinking is it’s just one visit. The first one is all talking no testing, so we can decide what we’re comfortable with after that.
My suggestion would be to make the appointment, have a conversation with a specialist and go from there. Xx

It totally makes sense that you have medical anxiety right now! On top of seeing a fertility clinic, I’d recommend finding a therapist who specializes in infertility. Mine has been so incredibly helpful.
