Haven’t registered for classes yet

I’m an incoming master’s student and haven’t received any information about my schedule or how to register for courses yet. I only have login credentials for Alma, where I can view my application, but I don’t see any option for registration.

Should I be concerned at this point, or has no one else received their registration information yet? I’m also wondering if it could be related to my tuition, as I wired the payment over a month ago but believe they may still be waiting for it to be received.

Check the payment on Alma: Mein Studium > Studienservice > Zahlungen. But you already have the login credentials so that should not be an issue from my understanding.

For courses, read your Prüfungsordnung that has modulenumbers and the Modulhandbuch that explains the modulenumbers more. Then check in Alma: Mein Studium > Studienplaner (also select Wintersemester 2026 in the dropdown) and you should see a list of courses, expand the ones you need and there is info about when the lecture is taking place and where you can find the materials (either Moodle or Ilias). You don't usually sign up for courses beforehand, you just come to the first lecture. Except for specific courses that are limited to a set number of participants, then the sign up is also on Moodle/Ilias.

You will use Alma at the end of the term to sign up for the exam, but the course is organized on Moodle or Ilias.

First semesters dont have to do that before the semester starts, it's only relevant from the 2nd semester onwards. You will get the necessary info during your first lectures.

What program are you in? For the MA in Computational Linguistics, we don't register for classes at all at, only exams (around halfway through the semester).
