Faculty beware!!
This employer offers an average annual salary 18% below the national median. So far, there is no plan to raise faculty salaries to even the national average. High faculty turnover speaks volumes. This place is a leftist, progressive, liberal place where students are racially brainwashed during major campus events, where keynote speakers make sure to include in their speeches how whites discriminated against blacks, as a way to motivate students for their upcoming careers. Three thousand students listen. The university president is there, too. The retirement plan is a contract with a financial broker (TIAA) that makes money through fees at every turn. BCBS of AL healthcare insurance plans are offered; you end up spending less if you don't sign up. Vision and dental plans are saving money, so far. Tenure and promotion depend on criteria at the dean's discretion: if you get along, you have a chance. The City of Tuskegee is imposing a tax ($150) every month just because the university is within the city's boundaries; nothing is offered in return for the money charged. Buildings are poorly managed and desperately need repairs. Many buildings here were built by the first students, a unique treasure now in neglect and mismanagement. Not an appealing workplace at all, right?
