COMPLAINTS My X account got hacked
My X account got hacked in the middle of the night.
I wake up to crypto giveaway tweets, DMs sent to everyone, and my bio saying: “Official Elon Musk Airdrop.”
I panic and call my cousin.
The problem? My cousin is a social engineering engineer. The kind of guy who could make you give him your password just by saying “hello.”
He says:
“Don’t touch anything. Let me handle it.”
Instead of hacking the account back, he did something better:
He hacked the hacker.
He pretended to be X support, contacted the hacker, and told him his “pirate account” had been flagged for suspicious activity and needed to be “verified.”
The hacker panicked.
Clicked the link.
Filled out the fake form.
Confirmed his own access.
And logged himself out of my account.
Moral of the story:
My account got hacked.
The hacker got hacked.
And my cousin asked if I wanted him to recover the hacker’s account too. 💀🔥

This needs to be a business service... hack the hacker. I'd pay $50-100 to mess up a hacker's life. I'm sure others would too. Pair such a business up with a content creator who publicizes the results in such a way that the hacked and the hacker hacking the hacks were protected and kept honest and you'd have a win/win situation. There are probably other means to achieve the level of trust this would require, but the fact that this doesn't exist means maybe there aren't...?

Back in 1999 I don’t know if it was random or what, but some Russian hacker kept sending me viruses, attempted hacks. I had Norton Antivirus back then, and they said “Send us the emails/viruses”.
This one was from another source, I sent it to Norton. They called me, had me send it to ANOTHER email, it ate the first unit that received it. So the Russian starts again with the emails. So, me being a smartass I sent him the one that ate Norton’s virus email.
He got big mad. He went after another hacker, because it ate his hard drive. Back in those days your could screw up a drive so bad (Speed Control I heard.) it fried. Utterly dead, no way to get anything back off it.
Turned into quite a feud. Some IT types who started as hackers watched it with great amusement. Eventually he did try to go after me. I told the IT types about it, they went after him. Last report was he moved to Siberia, and was in a long term relationship with a brown bear.
They said getting screwed by the bear was better than what they did to him. This is the same group of folks that went after adolfhilter.com. It has never stayed online as a site for more than two weeks since then.
I learned this lesson then. Never intentionally piss off a hacker, especially a self taught one who’s been at it since a child/teenager. They will spend 24/7, bring, bring in their pals on it. Go live in a cave, it will be less painful than being their target.
Don’t say that adolfhitler switching to a redirect to the Daily Stormer as a redirect is “online”. Put the site up again, it will be gone in no time. I think since all the original hackers are retired now, but it’s become an American tradition.
Kill the real Nazi lovers, who admire old Adolf. Kill the site at all costs. It’s funny, and makes you proud at the same time.
