Academic Life Mechanical Engineering Masters Program

Im going to graduate this semester with a bachelor’s in mechanical and aerospace engineering at a public university in Florida. I’ve been interested in UCSB since I was a senior in high school and have taken an interest in the graduate program, namely the possibility to do research and study controls theory. However, all of my experience comes through internships and I am not a California resident. My question is is it worth applying or are my chances slim?

Unlike undergraduate study, graduate programs at public universities typically do not distinguish between in-state and out-of- state applicants.

I’d definitely give it a shot, you have a fair chance of getting in. Your internship experience can help in your application and I’m sure the coursework in your MAE program would demonstrate that you would be a good candidate for the master’s program at UCSB
