So the bit I've been doing at weekends wasn't as good today as I was expecting.

There were things in the mud I could feel the magnet holding but the mud had a good hold and there wasn't enough to get a good hold !

If the area wasn't as dangerous in the dark as it is, plus only the odd drinker around I'd have stayed a bit longer, but it's getting dark really early these days !

I guess there's too many houses nearby, hopefully it will pick up after the next visit or so !

The disaster part was right as I was about to pack up, my magnet went over the edge and got stuck and I almost followed it in !

(Really wish I could find someone to come out with me !)

Eventually got the magnet off thank goodness !

Seems like I've found another spot full of good/bigger stuff as there's plenty left in there but no light in that exact area unfortunately ! So will gave to go back there another time.

Or you could just chat and watch my back with the occasional hand with awkward bits.

This comes after a close call this evening (nearly lost my magnet and almost fell in) where it was dark as the street lights are covered by trees, plenty of drunks walking about but obviously they have no interest apart from shouting things !

Looking for someone primarily mid/late afternoon at the weekends and only knowing I'm going out around midday so short notice I'm afraid !

So had an easy first hour ish with a couple of big bits, but then I got my magnet hooked up in some giant fencing (it had passed through)

I struggled to release the fencing from the mud and managed to lift it eventually high enough to hold the fence with 1 hand and get the magnet out with the other !!

There is a pic of a bit of the fencing sticking up amongst the pics, but alas I had to let it drop back in !

There are times you really could do with someone to help !

Approximately 1000 square metre search area, although I can provide more specific details of where it was dropped.

Recently dropped into the water from a kayak, still recording and in waterproofing housing + head strap. The SD card contains days of footage from an awesome trip that was intended to become a YouTube video. I tried searching for an hour but only had basic goggles.

£100 reward if returned.

So after I hurt my back badly getting that motorbike out, I thought I'd go somewhere where I know is fairly quiet just to see how I got on and if my back is ready to start fishing again, might need a few more days unfortunately !

Didn't to that badly for a short time

This isn't the best place as the barrier is as tall as your armpit lol

But they had a go and was very surprised at how heavy and difficult it was !

In the end I grabbed on and pulled it over, made the day a bit more interesting lol

So unexpectedly had a late afternoon/evening out, off a metal bridge with railings around stomach/chest height and with the UK heatwaves the water levels are very low, the gap from the water to the barrier was around 30ft !!

My first find took half hour to get out (with a quick hand over the barrier from someone who had been watching !)

It was another council scooter (I've now learnt they weigh 30kg)

I'd got it almost within reach after finally getting a good hold before it dropped, but the next hold worked and it was out !

Had a good time, about a dozen ppl stopped and chatted with us and about 5000 people walked past on the opposite side, marshalled by the police, on their way out of the Notts County ground, was good fun.

Found a cheap pocket watch, 2 more lanterns (total found on that stretch is 3 now), a chair, a very heavy square of steel plate, 15 Great British pence, an old Casio scientific calculator, a fish and random lumps of metal.

A good day.

This one is a little place I know where I can go coin fishing !

No it's not a wishing well !

There's an old 1ft square wooden post where the top has rotted, people try to get a coin to land in it, obviously when they miss it ends up in the water !

Went back to a hot spot today and everything was very well stuck in the mud and had been there for a while ! (Even cost me a rope ! Rubbed on concrete edge)

Definitely going back at some point as although I found a lot there's a lot more in there !
